i'm in the market for a powered sub. anyone have any ideas or know of some good forums so i can do a little research? i am planning to biamp my linn- this is for a 2 channel system, thanks.
ARGH. I wish'd you'd have posted this sooner . I have an ONKYO sub that sounds wonderfully. Send me a heidi-ho through my email if you're interested.
Depends on your budget and what you are using for mains. Off the top of my head, I would say that Hsu Research subs offer a very good valule. Here are some forums you can peruse: Audio Asylum Audiogon AVS Forum Ecoustics I guess you are using a Linn integrated also?
Are we talking about the same thing, everyone? I am talking about this: The flash on the camera made the black vinyl finish look dull, but otherwise it is in PERFECT condition. It sounds nice, too. Send me an email through the board if interested.
i have a pretty modest system. i have a linn majik, which is biamp ready, and a pair of Epos M5 speakers. i also have a linn turntable but primarily play mp3s through a mac mini that is dedicated to this system. it's only 33 watts per channel, but it's 33 real clean and detailed watts. my only beef is that it is a little too polite for some music- usually poorly produced stuff. just looking for a little extra kick. money isn't an issue, but i don't like buying more than i need.
That Linn does produce some sweet watts. The Hsu Research sub I mentioned would integrate well with your system. It produces very tight, but not boomy bass.
What is your budget? If you're looking for a <$300 sub, the best hands down is the BIC Acoustech H-100, 12" 500W You can score one on eBay new for $185+shipping, this lil bad boy will beat much more expensive subs easily.
Unfortunately really makes trully integrated system, so the best sub would be a Linn. Velodyne makes great subs if you buy their higher end stuff and I've heard good things about the Hsu's. I would ask this question on audioasylum.com.
