I've been off since 12/21/06. I had a blast every single day of my vacation, but now I've been back for less than an hour and I'm already miserable. Got in a little road-rage incident on the way this morning, discovered that work was mistakenly assigned to me while I was gone by my idiot boss (who was too stupid to realize that I was gone...), all my fellow employees annoying quirks that I totally forgot about while I was gone are back and annoying me again. GOD, please....I need another vacation.
I was supposed to be back at work today, but got a day off because of President Ford's death. Of course, I didn't know about it until AFTER I got to work today [], so I'll stay here until 11:00, them I'm gone...
I've been off since Friday December 15th and now I am back. Didn't miss not being here one bit, but a man's gotta pay his mortgage, so here I am....already looking forward to getting MLK's birthday off!
Damn...I just got back after being gone a week, minus a couple of hours here and there and I'm miserable...
I've been on vacation off and on during the holidays. But, being back at work on the second day of January sucks no matter which way you cut it. However, I am glad the holidays are over with. January 2nd is the worst day of the year in my book due to the holidays hangover and there isn't another holiday for a good while. It sucks even worse this year as it is the national day of mourning for our 38th president. It's a double whammy. TODAY SUCKS!
I saved a lot of my vacation days until the end of the year. Worked so great I'll probably do it again this year.
I worked through the holidays and it sucked BIG time (even though no one was here and I could surf all day) and it still sucks being back today.
What I don't get is the people that WANT to go back to work. I ran into this broad I work with a couple of days ago at a store, and asked her sarcastically "so, you ready to go back?" - she said she was; she'd been gone long enough. I took today off also since the kids don't go back to school until tomorrow.
Been on and off since Dec 3, mostly off. Used 10 day of vacation, still have 34 left. I don't mind getting back to the office.
after being accustomed to those wonderful month-long college breaks for the winter holidays, this yr's vacation seemed about 3 weeks too short. so yeah, being back at work sucks. my gf who's still in school just woke up 30 mins ago........... luckily i don't have any annoying employees around to make things any worse....they're all still on vacation. gaah.
I have been on vacation since February of 2006, and am still on vacation, though I will probably be going back to work soon....dang it. DD
Same here... except the losers whohad to work on Friday called me and let me know there was no work today. I appreciate getting the day off, just wish it was due to some other reason... and, I'll have to go in really early tomorrow because I'm teaching a class at 0800 that I was going to use today to prepare for...
Going back to work AND classes is just as bad, if not worse. Man, I do not feel like going back to school and hearing all these people b**** and moan about the Boise St. game.
back at work today. ever since the 22nd, i had 2 4 day weekends (22-25 & 29-1st) now back to reality... oh well got personal days i can use
