After a fresh update of Mozilla Firefox, I was wondering what Firefox extensions do fellow BBSers enjoy the most? Please list the extensions that you have and use and list their functionality. I am looking at which I should add to my list.

    I use...

Adblock - filters ads from web-pages
Crash Recovery - automatically recovers all windows after a crash (including text you were typing at the time)
FoxyTunes - control any media player from Firefox
Image Zoom - adds zoom functionality for images
Mouse Gestures - allows you to execute common commands using mouse gestures (refresh, back, forward, open new window, enlarge text, etc.)
PDF Download - allows you to choose what you want to do with a PDF file: download it, view it with an external viewer, or view it as HTML

    Theme: iFox Smooth 2.4.2

    My must-haves:

    - GMail Manager. It's awesome to be able to read your new mail in a tooltip.
    - GreaseMonkey. The MySpace cleanup scripts are a GODSEND.
    - IE Tab. For those stupid company intranet pages that are designed for IE only.
    - All-In-One Gestures. If you've never used mouse gestures for browsing, you're still living in the dark ages.
    - DownloadThemAll. Everything you want in a download manager, and nothing more. Very well integrated.
    - FasterFox. Speed tweaks.
    - AdBlock Plus/FilterSet.G.

    Reveal 1.0.6 - (see everything).
When you press F2, it shows you a thumbnail of each tab you have opened.
When you put your mouse over your back button, it shows you a thumbnail of the previous page, or a thumbnail of each of the preceding pages if you click the down-arrow on the back button.
When you triple-click, it ZOOMS, and then you can use your scrolling wheel to bring the zoom up or down.
It has a few more features.

Web Developer - adds a toolbar with developer tools for the web programmer/designer. A great tool for EVERY web designer. Many options allow customization of this extension.

Ah yeah -- Reveal. I used to have that extension before I upgraded to 2.0. Not sure why I never re-installed it. It is very nice.

Useful thread. I'm gonna download that Crash Recovery extension now. There are so many Firefox extensions, I didn't know what was useful and what wasn't.

    Keep em coming.

Holding the right mouse button and dragging the mouse will perform some function. For example, holding the right mouse button while moving the mouse to the left is the same as pressing the back button.

One that I find useful is FlashBlock, it replaces any embedded flash files with an icon, if you want to see it just click the icon and it loads it.

Think I'll get that FlashBlock. I forgot to get CrashRecovery.

i've got plenty, but the two i use the most are...

mcafee siteadvisor: didn't know that i would use it so much. for those that google a schit load looking for how to get software, it puts a green dot for sites that are no security risk, a yellow one for possible risks, and a red for sites with adware/spyware and other nasties. puts a questions mark next to sites that it hasn't scanned before (not too many of those). if you hover the mouse over any of the dots, it'll tell you what you risk. i've downloaded tons of stuff from the green sites and have had zero infections.

videodownloader: takes vids from places like youtube, google video, etc and gives you the ability to download them. it's cool because i download the vids, convert them to 3gp (requires different software), save to my sd card, and watch them on my phone. neat stuff.

Adblock Plus - Removes ads just like the original. This version though has more features like better filtering and auto-updates. It's also not recommended to get the FilterSet.G. extension as this one already has something similar put in.

Download Statusbar - Removes the download window and puts download notifications right on the statusbar.

Fasterfox - Makes Firefox faster via tweaks.

IE Tab - Let's you view sites that don't work on Firefox.

Linkification - Turns text links to hyperlinks. Very useful when reading message boards and text files.

Mouse Gestures - Let's you use the mouse for common commands. This thing completely changed the way I browse the internet.

SmoothWheel - For those with a scrolling wheel on your mouse, it makes scrolling much more smoother (even if your wheel is crappy like mine).

Tab Mix Plus - Adds a lot more features for tabs like opening windows you accidentally closed, crash recovery, etc.

Is there a quicker way to close a tab besides clicking on the red 'x'? God, I'm lazy!!

Ctrl + W, or with a mouse gesture.

I used to have something in my Firefox that allowed me to visit a player's basketball-reference page after highlighting a name and right-clicking; but I'm a moron and and couldn't get it to carry over to my new version.

Most of the good ones that I use are listed above, but one that isn't:

FireFTP - I use this one a lot to do my uploading for website files and image uploading

Some quick-n-dirty mouse gestures (drag with the right button):

    Back: left
Back (faster): rightclick-leftclick (just click both successively fast)
    Forward: right
    Forward (faster): leftclick-rightclick
Minimize: down-left (oh how handy is this one for when the boss comes in!)
    Close tab/window: down-right
    New tab: up

Omega: there's a new extension out that's better than VideoDownloader and supposedly works on virtually any page with any kind of video on it. Plus it saves directly from the site instead of opening a popup like VD does. Can't remember the name but it should be easy to find.

Also, if you're a MySpace surfer, do yourself a favor and get GreaseMonkey ASAP. Then head on over to userscripts.org and get some myspace scripts. I have one that cleans up the home page (leaving just your profile pic, necessary edit links, bulletins and top friends. All that "cool new people" and ad crap is wiped out). Another one automatically removes all flash media from profiles and replaces them with a simple javascript link that you can use to enable them individually. There's lots of comment box scripts.

So how would use that GreaseMonkey for Firefox?

I need to get that video downloader too. If there is a new one and somebody finds it please post.
