Vince who? Oh yeah, the Texans killa... Oh well, for the 1,000,000th time, yes, I wish we would have drafted VY...
its funny that dan reeves was brought in to houston to evaluate the talent level that the casserley era brought in. then AFTER the season is over he is gong to say that he would have never picked up mario.....great way to save yourself mr. reeves...make your bold prediction BEFORE the season starts and THEN act like you know something.......to say that the texans didnt ask reeves for advice(he was brought in as a consultant) is next to impossible.....nice try saving your own a$$....
no, he didn't. he was quoted, pre draft, as being "impressed" with vince young, which is really going out on a limb, considering young was the national championship game MVP, heisman runner-up and eventual third pick in the draft. but according to espn, reeves, as has been reported all along, endorsed the texans keeping david carr. all texan-related vince young talk from reeves surfaced not only after the season started, but after the titans started their successful run to close the year. steefrancis was right to call reeves out.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/fb/texansfront/4469436.html Young had Reeves' endorsement from get-go Former adviser to McNair thought UT product was right fit for Texans oops.
Well he's not very bright. He thinks they should keep Carr by his favorable report, then thinks they should still draft Young? No wonder he's out of the league.
no kidding; it's such revisionist bull****, and yet, people eat it up. i don't even think its newsworthy, and the chronicle should be ashamed for printing such garbage. but then again, they did so to not to inform, but provoke, so... mission accomplished, i suppose. reeves' "claim" would carry a lot more weight if, you know, he had made it prior to vy winning some postseason awards. you know, back when it was actually useful and relevant. instead, by every single account available, he endorsed carr and endorsed the head coach who also eventually endorsed carr. but yeah, i'm sure he THOUGHT it back then.... and that counts, right? maybe its in his diary.
He did. He said, before the season started that he was impressed with Bush but that you couldn't pass up a talent like Young. I think Shula said he'd take Young as well, and I could be wrong, but so did Bill Walsh. A few other guys, but they were definitely in the minority. Y'all remember the scout that said McNeal would be better than VY in the pros?
