This thread made me really sick. I got your point, i.e., Tracy is obviously a better leader than Yao, but then so what? I just want to tell you, logically, Tracy should be better than Yao, according to their salaries. However, can you say Tracy contributed more to the Rockets than Yao so far? Anyways, nothing and nobody can prevent you from disliking Yao...
Greater Rocket's Fans than you are posting on these boards and some of us have as our special player- Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady etc. There is nothing wrong with that. however there are some who are here because the are following Yao because he is Yao and not because he is a Houston Rocket. Two completely different kettles of fish! Don't lump us all in the same bucket.
A healthy Tmac vs. a healthy Yao, tough call...Of course I love them both but as they always say, "just win baby"...
It is most unfortunate that we even consider that Basketball has become a Guard's Game.IMHO Houston Rockets have never played this type of game.Except for the big mistake.[Franchise] I am most glad to see that Tracy McGrady has been able to regain his old form because when Yao Ming comes back from injury the Rockets will be just that more effective. Yoa a dominent scoring Center and Tracy Mc Grady one of the top players in the game, capable of scoring and playmaking the game to Yao Mings best advantage. Some say that the game must go through Yao, I say the game must go through Mc Grady AND Yao Ming. In this way the Rockets will be a great team and one of the main challengers for the 2007 title of Champion. A team with a great Guard and a great Center.

The poster you replied to or the one who started the "We can win w/out Yao" thread after a few wins (never mind the stinky loss against an Indiana team without O'neal) in the midst of the softest stretch of this season? If Barkely can avoid kissing a donkey's ass for a second time, is it that difficult for a YOH with a few more brain cells (poor GPA notwithstanding) not to make the mistake of expressing explicitly the dislike of Yao on this forum?
People who are comparing the team with Yao to the team with McGrady. Please, just also consider the teams we're playing. When McGrady was out, we started out road trip in the West, and we were very competitive in all those games. With Yao out, the schedule has been much friendlier so far.

should've being 4-0 since yao is out... basically this is the easiest part of the schedule this season with pacers having o'neal sit out. I dont think just tracy is enough when u start playing those other top western conference teams. But hey, yao carried the team to a victory over spurs at their turf
Well, obviously it's not as black and white as that for all cases. For instance, even though my join date is earlier than yours no one would know if you or me were really Rocket fans or YOFs or MOFs unless they went through our post. BUT, in this particular case....I am talking about just finalsbound now, it's hard to argue she is more of a Mcgrady fan than a Rocket fan because of her join date...which is what jetland was implying by arguing she was a 'MOF' as well. And let's be honest, join date is used by some as a indicator on who is a true rocket fan - like those who followed the Rockets during the Hakeem, Rudy T, Francis and Cat era- compared to those who jumped on the Rocket ship right after Yao was drafted. I'm not saying it's the only method to test some fans but it's there since YOF hunting has become fashionable over the years. We are better w/o Yao? Is this an new year joke or something? We are going nowhere w/o Yao man! I'm glad to see guys are stepping up and playing hard so we aren't totally out of the race this year . We need Yao to come back real soon to lead us to the championship.
I think every team in the NBA would take Yao over TMac. Even if you could guarantee that TMac would be healthy.
