So my girl and I had our own Christmas today. I got a Sirius receiver, because we don't live in Houston and I love to be able to hear Rockets games and I drive about 60 miles a day. Thoughtful gift. I just don't want it. I listen to my Ipod in my car. I like it that way. This not only requires a monthly subscription, according to the directions, it also requires that I do some installation for the damn antenna (even if I just play it through the FM transmitter). I don't install stuff on my car - weird, I know, but since I'm under warranty still (on the car), I don't want to jeopardize that. Not to mention it is visible from the outside, so it only increases the risk of having my car broken into. It's just a gift I don't want Two questions: 1.) Do you really have to install the antenna on the roof outside the car? 2.) How do I break it to her that I don't like the gift even though it is genuinely a thoughtful present? It's even worse because i'm a very hard person to shop for. I don't really want anything. I'm pretty content with the stuff I have. Even if we exchanged it, I can't think of anything esle I would want.
What an a--hole. Every guy knows modifying your radio doesn't ruin your warranty. Do you drive an Acura TL? Because they have xm radio integrated into them won't be visible.
It might work okay on your dash. I have a GPS antenna on the dash and it works fine. My sirius radio is on the roof though, so i'm not too sure... Sirius is awesome. I would keep it because satellite radio is totally baller and great for long distance road trips.
Good to know the GPS works on the dash. Hopefully that means the same for the radio. Thanks Glad you think I'm an *******, kiki.
lol, putting in a sirus radio won't void your warranty. furthermore, the antenna probably just sticks on there with a magnet.
When you say you listen to your Ipod in the car, do you mean you have an FM Transmitter that you hook it up to? or do you listen to it with the earphones while driving?
Xbox 360..... umm.....socks. ...if they were low cut socks I'd want them...but they almost go to my knees rofl.
Ok. Sounds like I'm totally wrong on the warranty issue. My dad had a car a couple cars ago and we were going to install a CD changer in the trunk (yes, it was that long ago) and the dealer said if we made any adjustments to the electrical system such as that it voided warranty on electrical issues that may come up. Anyway, I use an FM transmitter on my Ipod. I see people using headphones, when I drive, and those folks scare me. I know a ton of people like it...it's just not my thing. The car clutter, the fact that I like picking my own music, the hassle of setting it up, the idea of people seeing something in my car that they like....all sorts of things.
Correct. My son's Sirius radio has an antenna that simply mounts on the roof with a magnet. It connects to the radio with a thin wire that the window closes over.
