I was looking at the chronicle and the rockets were on the second to last page. The rockets have fallen a lot in terms of the coverage they get here. It is pretty sad.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I went to "think" and read the paper here at work. Second to last page, after golf and tennis? W.T.F.

The texans are terrible why do they get more coverage than the the rockets. At least put a blurb on the front page saying the rockets won. How can we get the chronicle to change?

This is Football and Baseball town, and the Rockets play a distant 3rd it seems. How sad would it be if the Dynamo become more popular :p

There is a blurb on the front page of the Sports section. It says to check out the Rockets coverage on page 18C.

    18 F'in C? That's like far back and stuff.

    BRING BACK THE POST!

    LOL baseball town?

The Astros have made nice runs, if they start losing MMP will be a graveyard like the dome was back in the day.

    Houston is a football town

baseball, basketball and to a lesser extent UH/Rice will get top billing if they win.

Texans will always be number 1 in coverage win or lose. Just go back to the early 90s (last time we had the Oilers in a non lame duck situation) and how much coverage they got from the post and chron.

All I ever hear on the radio is Texans this and Astros that. From the show hosts, to the callers. Rockets only get some mentions in the Fan Feedback, that's about it, hahah.

You may not agree, but *my* observation is that football and baseball is always a topic of discussion year 'round in Houston. But "LOL" all you want...rudeness. I suppose the "it seems" in my post made it seem like I was stating fact.

I would say Astros and Rockets get about the same amount of run during the offseason.

As of this second the Astros are two behind the Texans but that can change very fast if the Rockets win in the playoffs.

My point is football is so far ahead of everything in this town.

Yep..every time I listen to SR610 or 790 when I go to work and when I go home all I hear is Texans talk - they never stop talking about the Texans even when the season is over...its driving me crazy...how much possibly do you have to say...and they keep saying the same crap over and over again .... I want to hear them talk about the Rockets for atleast 30 minutes and the special shows like fan feedback dont count

The reason the Rockets don't get a lot of radio coverage is because Mark and Rich don't know anything about basketball. You will never hear something new or thought-provoking coming from them when talking about basketball. I get the feeling that when someone calls in about the Rockets they are frantically pulling up all kinds of websites (nba.com, clutchfans, espn.com, etc.) so they can actually sound like they have half a clue.

i know this sounds nit-picky, but i hate when they split the NBA and Rockets section into front and back...

to me it feels like the hosts don't have much to say about basketball.

but u can go on and on about football. how long have we had this david carr debate going. vince young this david carr that.

football in general seems like a more debatable topic.

well they dont just have to talk about the rockets..when it comes to football they talk bout every other team. but basketall u dont hear anything about other teams in the west..etc.

That ain't the only reason but it's part of it. Charlie Pallilo, MattJ, Adam & Dalati are the only radio guys that stay close to the Rockets. All of the others ignore the Rockets for long periods of time.

The Chronicle is another story. I've debated a while but I may finally cancel my subscription because of their poor Rockets & NBA coverage. Because of the internet, I read the Chronicle less and less.

I think our Clutchfans friend Lance Z tries to talk about the Rockets.

He talked about it, and took some calls this morning.
