As bad as the month has been for the rockets, mostly because of the arduous road trip and the injuries, if the rockets win the next two games, which are at home against the hawks and the grizzles, it will cap a 9 win month. Only one win less than november. Either way we are still off to a better start than we were the past two seasons and we havent even been running on all cylinders. We can only get better even with yao gone, the chemistry will grow.

Just a positive thought to ring in the new year, of course we have to win the next two games.

Plus, we'll be getting Snyder back and Bonzi should improve. Tracy can't get too much worse than he has been these two months, in my opinion. Outside of getting injured, of course. Adding Battier to that mix, and our wing position is in far, far better shape than last year (I believe we had McGrady and Bogans and that's it).

With Yao being out and McGrady's health shaky at best, I understand why people are worried it will be just like last year again. But our roster is in much better shape than a year ago. We could use another backup center, and a backup/starting PG would be nice too. But the situation isn't nearly as dire as last year.

These next two games are very winnable, 9 wins for everything that's happened would be a solid month in my opinion

right. if we don't win these two coming games, it's time for Jeff to follow Fratello's way.

Yeah, without his best player, that makes a lot of sense.

every one considers a 10 week month succesful, if we win well only be on less than that, thats nearly 20 wins in 2 months, 25 more and that can guarantee playoffs. the only question mark is where will the rockets be in terms of health come playoffs.

one has to hope health wont be an issue come playoff time since the injury bug seems to be biting right now.

well as long as these 5 players are healthy come playoff time we will be ok:
yao, tmac, rafer, battier and bonzi

yeah rafer he is the only decent ball handler we have outside of tmac

oh yeah wreck your sig is wrong it was Kevin Harlan who said that not Marv Albert

Agree with you. I think they are a young mobile shotblocking center away from winning a bunch of games with this current lineup. Now that Yao is not playing you can really see how much he clogged up the lane with his shotblocking prescence on the defensive end of the floor. Steven Hunter would be ideal.

ummm right... JVG is the one that says we have enough to win.. besides Phil Jackson has been winning games with out lamar odom and ealrier in the year with out kobe.. no excuses.. those laker scrubs are not better than our players... if phil can win without odom and kobe why cant we win with out yao or tmac..

i really would like to see jvg go.. but hey if he wins a championship for us this year than i wont mind him staying :p

A 10 week month? Anyone can be succesful if you give them twice the normal weeks in a month! :D

All kidding aside, I agree that about 20 wins in 2 months would be quite respectable and would leave us still with a solid chance to make the playoffs. There's no need to panic yet.

well i didnt know phil was still suiting up for his team and playing, but regardless.

its sad to say but kobe can carry a team in terms of scoring more so than tmac can , due to the back. Plus, the lakers are .500 without odom i think...1 game against the rockets which we all remember how the rockets blew that game.

those laker scrubs are not better than our players...

maybe, but the lakers have better size and athleticism

    how generous.

I get a feeling that T-Mac will go down soon if he continue to play this many minutes. I have never seen a player with a bad back return on his first day playing 38 mins and then 34 mins on a back to back. Just incredible.

This team is no dbout better than the one last year. A playoffs team for sure. But I don't think its future is too bright because of its star players health.

I think jvg is doing the right thing by having tmac play heavy minutes. His back can go anytime, and the rockets cant hold back. if he is able to play through it, and show he is still a franchise player, then great! if tmac goes down again, i honestly think its time for the rockets to rebuild anyways. tmac isnt going anywhere with his fat contract, so he is virtually untradeable, and with the team having so much of their cap tied into yao and tmac, its almost impossible for les to sign another superstar. if yao and tmac can carry us deep into the playoffs this year despite all the injuries, that would be awesome. if they cant, and we have a horrible season, atleast we have a shot at a very very deep draft. maybe its destiny for the rockets to have a front court of yao and oden (oh how scary would that be :D)
