I agree...also when Darrell Garretson, took over as Supervisor of Officials, it became an army of no personality, bad calls, and don't talk to us refs... plus he always seemed to have a thing against the Rockets.
This sucks, now I got a feeling the refs will spoil the Nets tonight with calls to make amends against the Rockets. Us Rockets truly have the WORST LUCK Yao injured T-Mac Injured Melo and Iverson debut against Rockets Ref makes amends with Nets against Rockets Not to mention there is a ref in the league who is like 75.. come on.. can you honestly tell me he has perfect eyesight and so forth? He is 75 his brain is probably a few seconds off too, I'm sure his reactions suck.. he probably means to blow a whistle, by the time he reacts he ends up not blowing it since the team is already down the other side of the court. Have you all seen this guy? Just retire man

I dont know who u talking about? is it Dick Baveta (or something like that)? if it's him, I think he is the best ref in the whole league (at least for us). the guy is really cool and when he makes a mistake, he goes "I am sorry dude, I screwd up, I will make it up for u". now I agree 100% with JKIDD's bashing the refs because they really messed up with them yesterday. and I agree 100% with u that we have the worst luck. but guess what? it gets a little better for us. remember the Denver-Phoenix game that was postponed due to snow? well, they are not gonna make it up until Feb. this means that their game against the Rox will be the last game before Melo's return, isn't that cool??
I still think the best way to solve the officiating is to pay big money to the refs, and hold them accountable. Use some sort of point system to grade each official and fire the incompetent ones. If you pay enough money, you'll get capable people to come to work and you can eliminate the incapable ones. We do that with players and coaches. Why can't we do that with refs?
Are you kidding? Dick "The Fix" Bavetta is the worst official in the league. He's absolutely terrible and he's got a grudge against big men for some reason. All the times Yao fouled out last season or nearly did this season, I'll bet that Dick Bavetta was working the game.
I actually like the guy, he seems really nice and u can talk to him if he made a bad call. at least he is not the WORST official in the league, Danny Crawford is still alive
Oh Dick Bavetta is by far the worst. He's old. He doesn't call fouls on superstars. And he doesn't regard Yao as a superstar. That loser. =/
Dick "The Fix" Bavetta .... hates Yao with a passion.... I always cringe when I find out he is calling a Rox game... I remember last year... a few times when Yao got stripped of the ball... a guy would reach in slap at the ball... ball comes loose... goes out of bounds... Yao didnt get the benefit of the foul call for him... which is fine...maybe is was a foul maybe it wasnt...see some don't see some... slapped out of bounds... so Rox ball... and so I would expect with any other teams in that situation... but what blew my mind... was instead of the ref's awarding the ball to the Rockets... they gave it to the other team... this happend for a 3 game stretch....and then it stopped... im sure JVG had the tapes going to the NBA...on that.... although they did address the situation... and I have yet to see it... again... goes to show you how Yao and the Rox get screwed over...
refs make anywhere from 90,000 to 220,000. That seems plenty enough for me. The problem is that referees always promote from within. People who have been there longer get more respect even if they suck balls.
Dick Baveta might be nice as a person, but he's worst when it comes calling Rockets games. The guy has NO idea, absolutly NO idea how to call Rockets game half decently.
This worked out for the Rockets. It was obvious the Nets were out of sync tonight and I'm sure last nights game had something to do with it.
Frankly I cannot imagine Dick Baveta as a "nice person". I can only picture him a racist, sexist...you name it, a disgusting speciman of human beings. I know he "only" makes bad calls but it bothers me as he CONSISTENTLY makes biased officiating and he's PAID for it!
NBA refs do suck. Especially Dick "the Dick" Baveta. Kidd speaks the truth, as he always does. He hit his wife, and admit to what he did. The man does not lie, even if his own reputation is at stake. Never doubt the Kidd. The real 02-03 MVP.
