Can we use Ronald Artest?

It seems that the Kings are ready to depart ways with Ron Artest simply because he was not a good fit with the team.
I feel that he potentially can thrive in Van Gundy's defense first style. I could really see Van Gundy really utilizing Artest's strengths and unleashing a beast on terrified teams. I wonder if it would be possible to bring him on...

PS: I am a clutchfan veteran and haven't logged on in a long time. I am a regular reader but really want to get back in the mix. Good to be back guys.

    anyways

Alston, JVG, Snyder for Artest sounds reasonable

first of all, welcome back SteveFranchise

I really dont think Artest would work under JVG. the guy has major attitude problem and JVG is very stubborn (we've seen what happened with Bonzi)

I would love to have Artest though, he can lock guys down and he can rebound pretty well. he would give us some size at the 3 and he can hit the open shots.

I still dont think we have anyone who would interest the Kings. and I am not willing to give up Yao, Mac, Bonzi, Battier, or Hayes.

btw, are you serious about "RONALD Artest"? it was pretty funny when I first read it. it sounds too professional for him :D

I dunno, I feel like Van Gundy can break down Artest just like Bonzi. Yes, Artest is crazy but I think he's proven that he can play with composure that last two seasons with the Kings. As long as no one throws beer at him, he should be fine.

But yes, I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to get him without giving up something precious. Was just throwing it out there....

No I wasn't serious, I thought ronald would get a few laughs... didn't want to get bashed

I would love Ron Ron. Maybe he can make sure this time Bonzi doesn't leave by threatening to kill him...again :D

if we have artest, we do not need battier, so any1 wants to trade battier for artest?

i do not, i would rather keep bozi.

if only every1 is heathy, yao/howard/battier/tmac/alston, what a team, with the bench of wells/head/snyder/hayes/deke

battier can't play for 48 minutes. d in the backcourt can/needs to improve especially when batts sits. artest is big enough to guard PFs and Cs. there's room for both on the team.

We would have a shutdown defense with Artest.

They want to get rid of him because he thinks hes a primary offensive option.

How about Alston and first round pick for 2007 & 2008 plus cash for Steve Francis. In a heart beat! :(

Artest + Bonzi in the locker room = instant kaboom!

Artest thinking he's a star offensive player + Tmac + Yao when he comes back = instant Kaboom! too.

Like I said before, one is enough. We already have Bonzi with a bad attitude, we don't need another arguably crazier head.

Artest is badly needed on this Nelly Rockets team. His attitude is good when he focuses on winning, he could play PF with Yao . J.Howard could fit into the Kings rotation without any problem.Possible with a strong active PF, Yao Mings accident could have been avoided.

Reports say Clips would trade Maggette for Artest. I don't think Rockets can beat that offer. They won't trade Battier, Yao, or McGrady, and the rest of the roster aren't worth as much as Maggette.

If the Rockets open up a nightclub and need a part-time bouncer and part-time (below avg) rapper, then yes, we can use Artest.
