Guys we have 20 till we pass the 6 week mark. We are 16-12 If we go a reasonable 8-12 that's 24-24 and that is either the 8th seed or within a game or two. If this thing with Yao takes him to the All Star break that is only four more games 10-14 to stay 500. Now we can't have anymore serious injuries but with atleast 30 games left (when Yao gets back) we will win 45 or more games and finish 6th or 7th and be rolling into the playoffs. Now please don't ask me to break down the next 20-24 games because picking a winner each night is borderline r****ded since anything can happen, ie. Texans beating Colts. I am just saying going 8-12 (six weeks) 10-14 (seven plus weeks) is very likley. BTW, 12 of next 20 at home 15 of next 24 at home WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND HELP CARRY THIS TEAM IN THE 4TH QUARTER OF HOME GAMES! These stats are just the bare bone min it will take us to stay 8th or within a game. With lots of home games WE CAN play 500 ball and get Yao back at 4-5 games over 500! Come on role players, step it up! T-Mac, let that back hold up we can miss you here and there for a game or two but will not be able to make it to May with you missing two weeks at a time.
I love math. Postive posts make me happy. Thumbs up! Go Rox! And go Red Rowdies! Raise the roof on Toyota Center and show the team ya love them even when Yao isn't in the middle!
One more thing, next three are all very possible wins. 2-1 makes it 6-11 See things get better quick 3-0 makes it 5-12
If T-Mac plays like he did when he was healthy without worrying about re-injuring himself the Rockets will be fine until Yao gets back -- otherwise you will need to rework this math formula
I hate math, but texanskan you made math a good thing for once. Going about 8-12 seems very possible, and even (worst case scenario) if we only go 5-15 we sure wouldn't be out of the running. I feel a little better. I wish some of those posters who were talking about tanking already could see this.
Not likely, you can check the record on the Lakers when Shaq was down for the first 26 games, the record was 10-16. That's with a healthy Kobe and championship role players on that lakers team. Now with T-mac who is not as good as Kobe and arguably worse supporting role players, you are saying they are going to play as well as the Lakers? Very unlikely
Well with our high number of home games I do think 8-12 is reasonable. I also think we have a championship caliber squad with championship caliber role players.
8-12 is a 400 winning % there are only 6 teams playing worse than a 400% I am pretty sure the Rockets can do this. Tonight we start and tomorrow I will post 7-12 on this thread
I would love to. We were abused by Al Harrington, Jeff Foster and Matson who? Dont try brian gymnastics or bend backwards to justify us making playoff this year. If it takes one more year to make Yao meaner and for us to get a ring, I am all for it.
.. 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 + 0000000000000000 ------------------ = 0000000000000000 yeah, I love simple Math.
What are Brian Gymnastics? Whatever they are, if they help the Rockets win, i am all for trying them.
i understand the pessimism and supposed reality, but you can at least wait til all star break before losing your expectations of a playoff dream!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! you tried to say brain but you said the name of your boyfriend brian instead!! spelling pwns yallmean. rox are making the playoffs...we have the talent to stay above water while yao is down. haters be damned.
