Good call... I was the one too... But as long as Wells can keep up with the team, he will be still Rox's 3rd option. I am just waiting to see what he can do in the rest of the games for the Rox.
well, you are correct...technically, I never questioned his talent or his ability to contribute because on principle, I was with JVG even if he'd chucked Bonzi off this team. But I never thought it would work out so I'll take the blame for a lack of faith in either Bonzi or JVG.
I was watching the game with my Dad, and we were saying how exciting it was to see Bonzi playing well. He had a whales of a game . BTW I saw this game on HD TV tonight, man it was awesome! Freaking incredible! I switched over from FSW to see what Jon Barry was saying, and I went back to FSW and I couldnt bear to see it like that.
nappdog, you've always been a great poster, and I've always respected u a lot. but after this post, my respect for u was multiplied by 100000000000000 the Bonz came back and played well, and if he keeps playing like this with a healthy Tmac, we are hands down the best team in the NBA and the perfect candidate for winning a championship. it was a really close call, I am just so glad Gundy changed his stance and gave him another chance. the guy is really good and he is really cool. it was great seeing him getting hi-5s from his teammates and Novak nocking on his bald head. the best seen in tonight's game was right in the end of the game, when Bonzi came out and gave Yao a big hug. it was just great. just great
I hated Bonzi before he came here, and I was pissed off at him when he got here, but I'd have crucified JVG if he had dumped him. Honestly I think he would have if his status was in question. Bonzi has a rare game and he's still not in shape, but this guy very well may end up being our most significant offseason acquisition - and our best in many, many years (outside of the T-Mac trade).
I'm not gonna lie, unlike you haters, I was pro-Bonzi from the start. I knew he had it in him and would perform if given the chance. I love being right.
I think JVG should get a huge amount of credit for the way he handled the situation. If he had just let him play when he was out of shape and beligerent it would have sent a terrible message to the rest of the team. He insisted that Wells get in shape and let him work his way into the lineup. Now Bonzi is producing and and it looks like he has good chemistry with the rest of the team. That doesn't happen by accident.
I love the little chemistry building between Yao and Bonzi. Bonzi is just that type of player that needs some love instead of tough love. His personality is totally different from all the nice guys we have. But he is real talent.
Watch it! You aren't allowed to give JVG credit for anything. Everything that goes wrong is his fault and everything that goes right happens in spite of him. You stand corrected!
