He is obviously the best player beside Yao on this team, and without him we sure struggled. But look he is hurt, that's out of control. Other than that, he is doing all the right things this season so far, including putting extra effort on D and deferring to Yao. If there is one positive thing from the last 4 games without Tmac, it would be that we are a much better team without Tmac than what we were a year ago. Yao averaged like 30 some points in that strech in spite of contant beating, double tripple teaming down low. Once Tmac is back, even not back to his superstar formerself, I feel that this team will make a run. The season is still young, and we are still doing relatively well record wise, although our standing is low right now and I think we absolutely need to avoid the Suns in the playoff. Ohter than that, We are really fine, so stop the hate and support the team because a hell of ride is in front of us.

    I'm worried about T-Mac.

How the hell is it, in his whole basketball career thus far, he only manages to get 5,000 points? He had 3 seasons where he averaged 28-32ppg.

J-Kid just got 13,000 last night. Timmy D just got 15,000 two weeks ago. It makes me wonder if he is really as good as I thought he was.

Damnit I can't start threads, or edit posts.

Well, I know T-Mac has suffered chronic back spasms, but I still think he should be around 8,000 points by now. If he really does retire in 3 seasons I think he will have 6,200-6,500 career points.

This is what everyone wants for T-Mac to come back and be what he used to be but that is all just wishful thinking. Reality is telling us something different that T-Mac will not be the old T-Mac and the Rockets should look to other obtions.

Rockets please surprise me when I'm back from vacation. Hell i even had hope last season until it was theoretically impossible for the team to make playoff.

Let's wait and see. Yao being so dominant, we just need a marginal superstar Tmac to beat most of the teams in the league. JVG needs to watch Tmac's minute, which we can afford to do because Bonzi is slowly rounding into shape and Synder is coming back. I think we will string a run like 7, 8 games to put us over the hump at some point of the season. We will probably end up being a 4th or 5th seed in the playoff, playing Dallas. If we can avoid the Suns, with Yao dominating, anything could happen for us in the playoff.
The real diaster for us will be the big fellow goes down. That's like the doom day's scenario.

even if t-mac doesnt come back 100%, hell even 80% his presence on the court would help significantly...

hahhaa, thanks for the much needed laugh.

    I think maybe it's 5000 points as a Rocket?

I agree with the OP though, I *WISH* we could stop most forms of hate after a loss, but that is just a lost cause. People will complain and whine after a loss expecting a team to go 82-0 I guess.

the hate in general is ridiculous. it is always fingerpointing ...'its jvgs fault', 'its rafers fault', 'its howards fault' etc etc.

yeah, losing sucks but thats no excuse to be a bunch of whinny a-holes.

i think the bitterness of texans fans have rubbed off onto rockets fans.

I don't think people necessarily hate Tmac, some just don't think his back can ever hold up and maybe it is time to get some younger healthier talents.

No one here is bashing TMac. But, it is fustrating to see your star player get hurt every year and miss games over an extended period of time. I'm happy the injury is occuring now, instead of down the stretch. hopefully, it wont come back later this year. We should also stop bashin Rafer. ;)
