This wasn't a back 2 back. They had 2 days of rest. How can you use tired as an excuse?

you guys are nuts. I'm tired of people blaming the coach instead of the horrid shooting of the players. When you shoot less than 30% for a half, Luther is 6-16 and Rafer actually shot better than him (7-17), and Bonzi is 2-10, you cannot expect to win games. Even with that we almost came back, thanks to Yao and some clutch shots by Rafer.

Where's Battier's lump of coal? He shot horribly, when a timely trey might have made the difference?

BTW, the Mavs didnt have Dirk Nowitski and they still won, its happened a couple times.

Just one of many scenarios where teams can consistently win without thier 1st or 2nd best player. Doesnt work for us though.

The Rockets shoot 1%, scoring an NBA low two points, losing 46-2.

Mr. Van Gundy's press conference after the game.

"We...ahhh...need to defend the pick-and-roll better."

Teams shoot horridly when the coach cannot or will not spend any time dealing with the offensive side of the ball.

    What he said ^

What he really needs is Rick Adelman as an assistant coach to implement some offense to this dead ass team.

Mavs also have the 2nd most expensive team in the league. Their freaking 6th man is making maximum. So i don't think its fair to compare losing Dirk and replacing him with Stackhouse to losing T-mac and replacing him with Luther Head.

I don't think you guys should be worried about JVG getting fired at the end of the season. You should be worried about him not resigning because I can tell you right now that New York is going to be shelling out the big bucks for JVG. I'm talking 10 million plus. You know what every Knicks fan thinks after a blowout where the opposite team scores 100+? We can't win without van gundy. Thats whats goign through their heads. Hell even the radio in new york still does interviews with JVG, and they sound very respectful of him. Thats right, New York media shelling out love to an coach that isn't coaching in New York.

I wonder how Morey's training vis-a-vis player evaluation would apply to coach evaluation?

First of all I think JVG is the best option we have to coach the Rockets. I am okay-good with him.

To the point, what about Indiana's head coach Rick Carlisle? He won games without Artest, Jermaine O'Neal, and Stephen Jackson. The Nuggets won without Melo and J.R. Smith. A good coach can win games by having a good game plan and using good strategy.

The games JVG lost were close, so I still have some hope in him.

I find what you said about NY isightful.

there was a time when your team was playing bad...

    you get rid of players...

    if that didnt work...

    you fired the coach

    traded your franchise player(s)...

if that didnt work you traded everyone and rebuilt

we have been stuck on getting rid of players for many years now...
