With MJ's imminient return pretty much in the books, the Rockets chances of acquiring one of their targeted big men may decline, I would think.

I'm talking about Jahidi "J Dubya" White. Its been well known around these parts (oeilpere perhaps being the catalyst) that the Rockets have had interest in the 6'9' banger with Walt Williams being the primary bait. I'm not too sure how close those talks were, but up until now I was pretty hopeful that there was a good chance it might happen. But with MJ donning the Wizards jersey, wouldn't there be less of a chance of that happening? Already, two of the teams better players, Rip Hamilton and Courtney Alexander, are 2/3 swing man players. The addition of arguably the greatest player of all time who excelled as a SG and now might be a SF certainly doesn't weaken Washington's 2 and 3 postion's. What would be the purpose of them acquiring another swingman in Walt Williams? Sure, having a three-point threat is always nice - especially with the new rules - and the organization is notorious for questionable moves, but wouldn't that be a tad redundant of them?

If this indeed lessens the chances of getting White (who IMHO opinion is vastly underated) it would be pretty sad. As much as I want Jackson or Mason, I've always felt we had the most realistic chance of acquriing JW. The other two are probably better players, but White would be cheaper, would fit in with our team and unlike the other two, would not be a threat to Mo upon his return.

Once again, MJ screws us.

I hate to say it, but the only effect Jordan's comeback will have on the Rockets is that they will sell out ONE game this season.

Jordan has said that he wants players in their last year of their contract like Walt. I think thats where the rumor started about White for Walt.
