Since Austin is considered part of Texans territory, it's my understanding that they are blacked out from Sunday Ticket.

If that's the case, they shouldn't allow the CBS affiliate to air a different game than the Texans.

I do know that since this isn't the Houston area, they are given the choice. However, they should make it available on Sunday Ticket if it isn't being shown locally.

I don't think its blacked out in the austin area on sunday ticket. Not sure about last week, didn't watch. Watched VY instead :D

Since the Texans org has given the big FU to the entire state other than Houston, this sort of thing is to be expected. Their honeymoon is over outside of houston.

Really? You mean all the Tech fans and A&M fans felt slighted when the Texans did what they thought was best for their team?

You might feel offended, but the Texans did *not* "flip you off".

Yeah... I think the point is that the locals can choose to air the Tean games, like they have for stretches each season including this one.

But I doubt that they will have more viewers in Austin for the Texans over Vince.

    The Titans have 3 Longhorns:

    HALL, AHMARD
    SCAIFE, BO
    YOUNG, VINCE

so naturally, Austin supports its own alumni and kids from the state of texas.

    The Texans only have:
    McKinney, Steve
from a&m. and Kubiak of course.

maybe one day the texans will support texas kids instead of california all the tiime.

I believe the Sunday Ticket blackout is only for 80 miles around Houston (in this case, the broadcast range of KHOU - the home affiliate).

Anyways, each CBS affiliate should be able to make its own decision. If the Texans give them bad ratings, they don't have to show them. Last year, Austin and San Antonio dropped the Texans. DFW doesn't show Texans at all.

McNair should lobby the owners to change the rules since his team can't get on TV outside Houston on its own.

A Sunday afternoon in Austin: Watching Spurs and Titan games while drinking Pepsi and eating pimento cheese sandwiches. If only the Rangers were playing it would be heaven on Earth.

they are blacked-out on Sunday Ticket ONLY if the local CBS affiliate is showing it. this past week, you could catch the Texannes on Sunday Ticket in austin due to the local network broadcast of the Titans.

the Spurs situation is unfortunate due to the NBA regional coverage rules dictating that the team closest to you is your team (therefore austin is stuck with the spurts). however, the NFL and MLB don't have the same restrictions. the "local" MLB team for austin (on TV and the radio) is the Astros (due, in part, to the Round Rock Express being an Astros farm team). the CBS affiliate in austin has given an honest effort to show as many Texans games as they can based on the support from the viewing audience. since the Texans are unwatchable, and since Jesus plays for the Titans, they have chosen the former Houston team as their weekly "regional" broadcast.

from what i can tell, an austin sunday usually involves a lot more beer and grass than your estimation. also, tacos tend to be favored over pimento cheese sandwiches.

thank god we don't have to watch the Rangers...

they show the rockets in austin and we have to face the spurs and mavs fans.
Can you do that Mr Meowgi?

will you step up like Vernon Maxwell down 0-2 in a hostile environment or do Cedric Ceballos out in your cushy home court bars?

Yes watching the Titans win is great! considering u dont watch football AT ALL. U can't be a Texans fan if you dont watch the games Meogwi!

just because you bought a David Carr jersey doesnt make u a fan. It just means Academy had a clearance sale.

What has Mario done this season that makes you think he will have 12 sacks this season? He's pretty much been a non-factor when he's on the field...
