the reason why bonzi wells gained so much weight was because he was sippin' "lean" when he came to houston..thats what i heard from an inside source with the rockets, i dont believe him... but thats what i heard..

    I'll be optimistic.

In addition to treadmill work, maybe he was actually burning his weight off at those night clubs and those chicks on his lap were his "personal trainers".

If Bonzi Wells can turn things around, then anyone can. Lesson learned in life!

It looks like Bonzi needed a good dose of tough love.

JVG took the long view...and it could pay off, too bad he can't play the point.

No matter what Bonzi says, he won't be a Rocket next year anyway.

What really comes across in this interview is how incredibly sensitive Bonzi is. He acts like a dog that needed to be petted and praised. I had this notion that he was hardened and indifferent, but it looks like the opposite is true.

This is not necessarily good news. Fragile egos are a big problem both off and on the court. You can't call one guy's number every time, or spend whole weeks focusing on him, especially when he's on a team with Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady.

You never know. Maybe he figures out if he plays well along Yao, he can also get a shoe deal in China. ;)
