I completely agree with u. as for your question, there has been an example of this already. you know who? it's our own, Hakeem the Dream. Hakeem probably got officiated 10 times worse than Yao. he used to foul out every other game (hyperbole) in the beginning of his career. he used to fight with players and curse out officials in the beginning but he still got no respect. so he just took it upon himself to overcome all the obstacles, and he won 2 championships one of which was won by HIMSELF. when he played Ewing, Ewing used to hack him every single play and they wouldn't call anything, and if he touches Ewing, FOUL!! that's why I consider Hakeem the best player to ever touch a basketball. he was a winner and he won 2 championships depsite all the obstacles created by the officials. that's what seperates him from others. hopefully Yao will be able to do the same thing as his career progresses. I found a really intersting thing in another thread: when asked about his favorite player, Yao answered "Hakeem Olajuwan". isn't sweet? I found this really really interesting. he said the first NBA game he ever watched was the 94 finals where Hakeem took Ewing and the knicks to school.
kinda like the "Rasheed Wallace treatment" and the "Rasheed rules". I really think Rasheed Wallace gets more respect now after taking **** about officials and getting countless T's and ejections. i think getting fined will be a good thing for Yao Ming...it will get him recognition around the league...not as an offensive beast bc everyone already noes that...but on the fact that he consistently gets fouled and no calls are made.

Heh. I remember that. Hakeem used to average fewer FT attempts than Kenny Smith, despite Kenny being a no-contact 3pt. shooter while Hakeem was mixing it up in the paint every play.
What if Yao is mistreated ONLY because he is from China? What if his nationality is a factor in this whole thing? Why not use it to your advantage?
