Remember when Carmelo was in that "Don't Snitch" video? Carmelo's from Baltimore and he showed up in some gang video going around the 'hood that basically threatened people if they cooperated with the baltimore cops.
But you have to think that the league is going to crack down hard on this regardless, given how they've made 'respect of the game' etc such a huge thing this season. Also, post the melee in detroit, I would think that the league would brook no nonsense when it comes to brawls.
Oh, so I can't post a pic saved on my CPU? Not trying to derail the thread guys....just wanna post the new shoes.
I disagree. AI would destroy Nate Robinson. Nuggets4 What are the Nuggets fans saying about all this?
ESPNews just had Mike Breen on. He sounded very fair in assessing the situation - basically saying Collin's hard foul was completely uncessary, Nate and then Carmelo completely escalated.. He also said "let's get a little consistent here" referring to Nate Robinson complaining Nuggets trying to show up the Knicks while in the mean time he was doing all fancy dunks to show up people.. Also said Knicks should blame themselves for not playing defense instead of getting upset over Nuggets trying to rub in. Said fans were great in not getting involved at all, unlike at the Palace.
www.imageshack.us Although I'm not sure why I'm helping someone who's going to post something making fun of a Nugget.
I agree, but they made it seem like nobody did anything bad other than Melo. I mean, they need to at least mention little Nate. the guy started the whole thing and was throwing guys around like he was in WWE or something. Carmelo's punch was a cheap shot, but it's shouldn't be the main story of the whole incident. they are focusing way too much on that particular punch and forgetting about the big picture.
Yes, but it'll be forgotten about in a year or so. He's more like an Allen Iverson type player- you know he's going to go punk once a year, but he's turned the corner- guy's a legitimate superstar, clutch, and someone you can build a franchise around, I'm convinced of that. Luckily, you've built up a good record so that the Nugs will still make the playoffs.
LOL! I have been flipping back and forth for the past hour now, and they're STILL ignoring it, it's like nothing ever happened. It's like watching a state-controlled media outlet...ministry of disinformation.
Mostly disappointment in Melo. Not too many are upset at JR. What he did was wrong, but in the heat of the moment, hard to really blame him. Melo however should have walked away. Basically, we're saying what a lot of people here are saying. No one really knows what to expect with suspensions. Some are, like a few here, guessing 3 games for most people. Some are, like a few here, guessing 20+ for Melo, JR and Robinson. I think all of us are hoping the AI deal goes down tomorrow so we still have a 30 ppg scorer in the lineup for the next few games.
How much is it? Probably too much for my taste anyway. I need new sneakers so I'm going to get some of the new Marbury sneakers. It's only 15 bucks......15 bucks!!!, can you believe? fifteen!!!!!
Nate is pretty damn powerful. I mean, he took JR Smith down and he showed no signs of fear even though his weight is probably half of Carmelo's. but still, AI is a gangster, he would probably pull out a gun from under the bench and blow his head off. where was Boykins? I wanted to see him go at it with Nate. that way it would be fair, two guys of the same size going at it.
Yes, fine, you found me out...I hate the NBA because it's so black. Too hip-hop for me...it couldn't be because I don't follow baseball too closely except the Astros, could it?
Just what I was going to say. The only thing I can say in defense of baseball is that the fans are further away from potential harm- that's the unfortunate part of basketball, especially following the Detroit-Indiana brawl. But- I definitely think there is a bias against basketball in these types of incidents. It's all about perception.
The suspensions are definitely going to be more than 3 games. I was looking at your schedule and it doesn't get any easier from here on out for the rest of the month (Suns, Kings, Dallas @ home and Hornets on the road). Tis sad that perception is reality and all of Melo's community work will be overshadowed by this incident.
