They'll just get Yao to the line for 25 attempts on Sunday and that will be their way of making peace.

Yao takes 35 shots, gets 6 free throws. Kobe takes 38 shots, gets 16 free throws.

It's easier to catch fouls on a slasher to the basket. But you've got to be kidding me if you think Yao's fouls are that disproportionate to Kobe's. Especially w/ the abuse he takes.

Yao's demeanor will work to his advantage this time. It's like watching Tim Duncan complain to the refs compard to Rasheed Wallace. The refs will actually take Tim's complaints into consideration, hopefully the NBA will too.

    But there's still that double standard. Kobe's whining = Rasheed's whining; Rasheed's technicals > Kobe's techinicals + 100

ok...i see this coming. Nice job by Yao. but i think he'll get a huge fine for this...

Maybe 2 weeks later, game quote "Rafer sucks, he can't help me at all, If Les doesnt spend money shopping around for a true point guard, I'm not playing for the rockets"

that would've been the best thing I'll hear. Slap right on Skip's face.

Man, it's so sad that Yao has to resort to violence to get some fairness on the court. Especially since superstars in general like Kobe, Wade, and Dirk gets to the foul line every time someone brushes against their jersey. I mean, it's not even about basketball now. It's about how to not getting beat up every single time out on the court.

I think it's an underlying feeling Americans have towards Asians and the refs feel the same way. I know I may get ripped for this...but this is the way I feel. God forbid a "Giant Communist Chinese Man" be the NBA MVP!!!!
    Sad...if you ask me!!

Yao is as American as apple pie now.....I love the guy!!
    He's great..an international icon!!
BUT....he's Chinese and how many Chinese superstars are out there that Americans recognize???

I ve been proposing this "aggressiveness" for a long time now. Foul hard instead of the stupid fouls, learn throwing elbows around from the best---Deke, then there will be no argument about MDP and MVP.

at one time, kwame pushed him with two hands, you could clearly see that Yao was upset.....and then Kwame ones hit him with one hand on the back even tho the referee ahd allready called something before

Yaoza is a monster and he will not get that pass by

Wow, that gave me chills when I read it. About time, big guy! :D You're a marquee player and should be treated as such.

I'm so glad he finally spoke up. It will be worth the fine he gets. He has been quiet for way to long and they have let it go. He is starting to turn into that fiery center we all wanted. Talking back, showing emotion, and taking over games.

The NBA refs are gay as hell. They want Kobe's manjuice all over them, especially in LA.

Not ONLY does KOBE get EVERYTHING on offense (maybe the occasional no call if a ref is feeling really brave) but he gets away with MURDER on defense.

I understand superstar treatment is wrong, but it's there and no one is going to change it BUT IT'S SO F*CKING GAY WHEN YOU LET KOBE b**** AT YOU ALL GAME AND DUNCAN TRIES IT ONCE AND GETS A T. Kwame Brown threw a dunk down a couple games ago and screamed the same way Yao did but did he get a T? NO!

No ref is going to call a technical on Kobe in LA, not a chance.

Kobe gets away with murder on D and gets almost every call on offense. I understand there are bad calls all around (we wouldn't have even gone into 2OT if they didn't give us the goaltending call) but there are just too many on the Lakers side. It wouldn't have even been to that point had the refs called HALF as many more fouls than they did for Yao.

    Bull-f*cking-****.

T-Mac has said Yao is the best, JVG has said you can't stop Yao if he's guarded legally, now it's time for Yao to say both

    ...with his elbows.

even in his commments, yao is polite....he needs to add a couple of explitives in his comments to make it work..it works for all the other superstars...Those calls were a bunch of Backless Stools is what he should have said...if you don't get what i'm saying, read the other trhread... :D

I don't know why people are calling for Yao to be throwing 'bows everywhere. The refs call a foul on Yao if he so much breathes on someone.

As for Kobe not getting T'd up. That's fine with me. The superstars are given more leeway to argue calls. What got me mad was letting Smush Parker get away with show up the ref. When he got in the ref's face and threw off his 'band, that should've been an automatic T. (Plus he kept yelling at the ref all the way back to his bench during the Time Out.

THAT was a big no-call on the ref. I understand letting Kobe get away with arguing calls, but who the **** is Smush Parker?!
