what a coincidence! when i read this thread, the shanghai sports tv station is just broadcasting the interview with yao, first yao talked in english, staring his eyes really round and open, shaking his head when he was whining, yao looked really pissed off and angry, also yao's face looked pale and tired, what he said is just the same as the thread post... and then, comes the chinese part, possibly he was interviewed by some reporters from the mainland of china or kind of chinese tv stations, here is the translation: i have just said what i should say, i am bored with all those unfairness! i said i would crash crush my tv if rox lost again, yeah, rox lost by the 3rd time, after 4 quarters & double overtime, i just felt tired mentally, like our team, i haven't any little strength to do anything to my tv. all the 3 games r so resemblant, we got chances, we fell down with stupid turnovers etc. guys, if u watch the game in the internet on cctv5, i would mention u that even the chinese comentator(that old one)shouted the words in english——“stupid”, in the final moment he did that by 3 times, what can i say? whining? enough here...rox, win or loss, i will stand by ur side, especially when u got hurt and getting tired, i am ur loyal fan deeply in my heart.
Yao should ask his fans from china to boycott the NBA. Stop watching NBA games, stop buying NBA jerseys and products until the refs call fairly.
Maybe refs want to make games more watchable. Imagine if Yao gets officiated fairly, he would simply foul out every opponent center by half time, then every fourth quarter is gonna become garbage time.
I'm a chinese, Yao earned about 60m US$ per year, he can afford the fine. Yao steped up to complain about the refs, it's good, it's a sign that Yao loves this team so much and he cares about the win so much. You know, Yao is the No.1 of our national team, he always steps up as our team leader, I think finally he realised his responsibility for the Rox, he is more mature, he is a strong minded guy, he will work hard to give us a title and many titles in the coming future. We should support our big fellow and have a little faith. BTW, please forgive me for my poor english.
are you sure? you must have meant the 60m/5year contract. I don't think he make 50m from endorsement.
Yao should say this after every game. He has enough money to pay the fines. We should all write letters to NBA about the fouls.
Yao's salary is about 12-13m, but he earns more money than his salary. You know Yao is the most popular star in China. I saw the figure from a website which said Yao earned about 0.5billion yuan per year, that is about 60m US$, I'm a ph.D student, I'm not a liar.
I'm sorry to say so. maybe the loose of Rox made me out of my mind. I just want to say that I've always say something because I get some resources. We are all Rox fans, I hope you guys will forgive me.
Hakeem took 40 shots and made 20 scoring 40 points once. No FT, not a one. It's not like defense didn't commit murders against Shaq/Hakemm all these years. Stop whining!
Not really true. If Yao gets the calls he is supposed to get, we win the game man, plain and simple. It doesn't get to OT. The truth is we lost because of the combination of: 1. McGrady was out. 2. crappy point guard play. 3. the foul call disparity. If just one of the above did not happen, in all likelihood, we win the game. When you put all 3 together, we lose. The factors that are going to account for practically all our losses this year are: 1. Injuries to McGrady. 2. Injuries to Yao. 3. Foul trouble on Yao. 4. Foul call disparity. 5. Crappy guard/perimeter play. (High turnovers, bad shooting, bad perimeter defense) If we have none of the above, we will win 75% of those games. You have just one of the above (foul call disparity or crappy guard play) and it is not #1 or #2 or #3, we will still win 50-60% of those games . You have two of the above, we will win 35-50% of those games. You have three of the above and we will only win 25-35% of those games. We took this game to double OT and Rafer and Luther were garbage, McGrady was out, and the officiating was horrendous against us. And it was the back end of back to backs. I would suggest to you that over the course of a season, bad officiating against Yao costs us 5-7 wins. Last night was one. If they call the fouls on Kwame and Bynum, both of those boys are in foul trouble and Yao gets close to 50 and they have Turiaf playing center against him. It did cost us that game last night. We couldn't afford the bs officiating on a night when McGrady was out and the guards are playing crappy.
So? Just becasue Hakeem was treated unfairly, Yao should take the unfair treatment without complain? It is not only about Yao, but also the best interests of Houston Rockets. If he got 10 more FTs, we may very well win that game. Are you a Rockets fan?
elbow those stupid defenders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or trade YAO to lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
