I mean, JVG left Rafer freakin Alston in the game until he fouled out, which left Bonzi on the bench. How many TO's does Rafer need to commit before JVG realizes that he sucks? For God's sake, he almost gave the game anyway dribbling the ball up the court in the 1st OT. To me, this makes absolutely no sense at all. Play Head at the point and put Bonzi in the game.

9 points on 4-10 shooting and 8 boards in 23 mintues is pretty good production, but his SIZE is what we need with T-Mac out.

If I'm Bonzi im pretty pissed off right now. I know that im one of the best players on the team, whether im in shape or not, and I wasnt playing in crunch time. I wouldnt be surprised at all if Bonzi and JVG clash again, which would end Wells' short Rockets career

He can quietly ask for a trade if he wants.

The control freak doesn't care though. As long as he can call another dry kick it into the paint, and dont move a muscle while staring at Yao force his way past 3 defenders for grinding fadeaway.

the horrible thing is rafer had 7 tos most of which happened during the 4th and after. he also messed up the last play at the end of the first OT and the rockets had to improved which resulted in yao taking a tougher shot (and he was fouled on) than needed. rafer needs to be the backup pg. i would at this point start luther and bonzi if it means keeping rafer from playing more than 25 minutes a game.

Come on, Bonzi was obviously tired in the 4th quarter. How long he has been out of training? I am surprised you didn't see it.

I was thinking what W-mac mentioned in the 1st post, then I realized Bonzi is still not in shape. You both beat me to the post. :(

Bonzi's minutes are increasing and so is his production. That's good.

    with tmac out,

this is a really good chance for all the role players to improve.

tmac's short term injury will benefit the team in the long term.

if that's the case, yes; otherwise, no good will come out of it.

Is it me or Bonzi seems to be getting better every minute he plays. sure he gets tierd, but the improvement is obvious. 9 points 8 boards 2 assiasts 1 steal in 23 minutes. far cry from he's previous game of 4 points and 2 boards in 19 minutes. he is so damn talented.. if we get 9 and 8 with a outof shape bonzi, in a month or 2, 16 and 10 is a reality. book it. by the playoffs, bonzi will be a 16 and 9 player.

i don't see bonzi AVERAGE 16 points, much less likely 9 rebounds.
but he's talented enough to put up a 20 point game in every 3 or 4 games.
u have to take JVG's offensive system into account, we are mainly a half court team, so bonzi isn't gonna be like the one we saw in last year's playoff when he's with the kings.

but i agree bonzi IS getting better every game.

you're right about bonzi not going to have an average of 16 points a game, but you're completely wrong about his ability to play half-court, or how he scored with the kings. he's a post-up player. last time i checked, so is yao.

Actually Bonzi will thrive in a halfcourt offense. he will use he's biggest strength more often then not. he is terrefic at posting people up. he will draw alot of fouls on the opposition. he will grab alot of offensive boards trust me, Our offense is suited to bonzi's strength's. it's a matter of drawing up some plays for bonzi.....

Bonzi played well last night, I think JVG kept him out at the end because he still doesn't know any of the plays and he's still lost on switching and helping on defense. His post up moves are solid and he's shown that he'll pass when he could take a shot.

i understand that bonzi is one of the best post up 2 guards in the league, but without enough plays drawn for him he won't be able to become a legit 3rd scoring optin that is scoring 15+ points a game espeically the way rafer's jackin up his shots..

    unless tmac is out indefinitely...

i definitely hope jvg can increase bonzi's minutes a bit coz he really can ball.

Thats because he is unsure what gundy is running. gundy as the coach should be telling him that if you got someone sealed like that, shoot it. the bad blood between the two, could still be hindering the communication part of there relationship.

you're right about the play calling, which has been horrendous all season (even when t-mac was playing). again, only one person to blame for that. how hard is it to sit rafer down and say 'hey, you're doing great, but don't pull the trigger on every 3 you see. you've got 2 guys who are much better shooters than you in battier and head, and yao down-low. so don't worry about the shot. even if you're wide open, just drive and dish. you'll cause havoc with your dribbling skills.'

that is really my ONLY complaint about rafer. he was a TO machine last night but normally he is great in that area. his shot selection is abhorrent, and that is something that the coach can/should be able to deal with VERY EASILY. this is why i'm so irate.

even though bonzi is kinda a bad boy playa, and jvg is old school all about discipline, i think the two will get along well overtime because other players on the team will help the relationship between the two.

i really think this team has great off court camaraderie.
