I promised you guys that the Rockets are not going to win any playoff series if Rafer is playing the way he plays or if he's the point guard of the team.

    Rocket's Biggest Need

Other than the obvious (health), the rockets need a top-tier point guard. Rafer just isn't it. Never mind his shooting, never mind his defense, his decision making skill is virtually non-existent. He cannot run this team. There's gotta be a better option somewhere. Heck, at this point, why not try Vspan, or Lucas, how much worse can this get? It wasn't even funny how smush parker just killed Rafer.

That picture looks like Rafer just had a happy ending.

I haven't read the entire thread cause its 330am, and i have to work tommorow morning.

But man, what is the Professor doing these days?

    The PROFESSAAA!

anyhoo. Man, I don't mind Rafer taking shots, long as he hits them regulary, but Rafer is not. Pass the damn ball Skip.

I'd like to see Luther or Span run some point, or have both of them on the court at the same time. Any combo of that is better than having Rafer on the floor.

LOL. it is definitely one of the least-effective ever.

one of my favorite posts in the game thread was something like:

    "rafer...airballs a 3 ::slams head on desk::"

because i could just picture all rockets fans doing something similar on that airball. and it came right after other bad things to make it look even worse.

rafer falling down and almost losing the ball to smush for a gimme layup at the end of OT was hilarious. wasn't this guy a Rucker Park/and1 legend? how come he seems to have no handles or ability to get the ball up the court under pressure. that's the one thing he should be able to do. between the turnovers, the backboard shattering 3's and the airball 3's it's hard to like him as our pg.

man i wish we had mike james. but at the time of the trade, who could've predicted a 3 point shooting pg who can create his own shot and play defense would be the kind of pg we needed next to yao. if only there had been some way to know. it seemed obvious that we needed a creator whose creating abilities would go to waste with 2 stars doing all the creating and a guy who had never been much of a shooter so that we could try to force a round peg into a square hole and try to turn him into a shooter. but we were young and naive, c'est la vie.

oh, and luther head had about 3 amazingly stupid plays tonight so it's hard to know how much we can trust him either (and he can't handle the ball AT ALL) but after the 24 point game he had the other day and with his 50% shooting it might be worth putting up with his weaknesses to give him mucho more time. and vspan isn't the answer b/c he shoots worse than rafer and seems just as turnover prone. can we have a real pg? like, i don't know, mike james.

We need the answer Earl Watson

Earl Watson can shoot 40% and dish out 5 assists and his defense is one of the best among pgs. We dont need some flashy player, just someone who can give u 5 assists and make sure smush parker doesnt become the second coming Arenas

As much as I hate Rafer, I must point out he has one of the best on/off court score ratings in the team, only behind Battier and Hayes. Of course this by no means can prove Rafer really contribute that much, but it does say how much better Rafer is compared to his back up players, named Vspan, JL3. To put hope on Vspan and JL3 is wrong, so wrong it can only let you down.

I cannot bear his turnovers and poor fg, he should reduce his shooting attempts per game and concentrate on passing the ball to others. Also, he dribbles too much. I just cannot understand why JVG still plays him so long every game, he should give others more time, like Lucas or Vspan, I do not think they would be worse than Alston, if not better.

i never been so nervous compared to watching rafer handle the ball during the crucial times..

behind the back..over the head...falls down..between the legs...JUST PASS THE DANG BALL.

    he is becoming moochie!
