to be fair, there is no big man in the game that can play that many minutes back to back and function well. Yao has little blame in this game. Very bad decisions by alston cost us a gimme.

    Rafer:
Don't shoot a guarded trey when the clockshot is over 20 and nobody at the post to rebound.

    Yao:
Use your elbow to protect the ball. That's why everybody tries to harrass you cuz you're too freakin gentle.

    Head:
    Use your head.

    Jeff:
    Think harder.

Well, not when you were up by 21, when lakers made the adjustments, van gundy couldn't re-adjust. He partly at fault.

a lot of it is jvg's system. he castrates players and makes it to where they never look to make plays. when you let guys make plays, they usually do. but we only let yao and tracy do it so no one has any confidence to step up. not that we have great players, but when every possession has to go to yao or parker falls down and alston just dribbles up top and waits for him to get back up instead of making a play, it's not good.

plus, he can't draw up a play.

so we've now given our all in a 27 point comeback but fallen short and then let them come back successfully from 21. awesome games against the lakers.

and don't forget they're missing odom, and they're like 3-18 without him. so now tmac doesn't work so well as an excuse.

We lost because of another dumb foul in the last minute of the game, just like we did in GS when they fouled Dunlavy to let them back in.

This time Luther hack a Kwame with mere seconds left. LA shoots tech and got the ball back.

    The fix is in!!!

    Mental Midgets.

All of them, no killer instinct, no iron will, no leadership.

Rafer - wow, he is horrible...I don't care about 19 points and 10 assists, the fact that Smush Parker shut him down and made it difficult to get the ball across half court much less into Yao, just makes me cringe.

The Rockets are just not mentally tough enough to win, when they are challenged. They crumble....they are great when ahead, but at the first sign of adversity they go looking for mama !

I have nothing but disgust for this powder puff team. Cut off the top and
there is nothing but cream inside. I despise Alston - he coasts during leads and feels he needs to get "his" even though he has a crappy shooting %. As long as he is the PG and TMAC is out, the team is doomed to under preform.

We lose this game. T-MAC needs to be soon in the rotation and also some players of the bench need time to play some minutes.

I've just read the last two or three pages of this game thread and most of the posts I have read are filled with ignorance. JVG's fault? Like he caused the 25 turnovers. Hey Rafer, pass the damn ball instead of trying to beat Smoosh everytime down the court. Some of you guys just have this hatred for the coach but most of the blame usually lies with the players and poor execution. We should not have lost this game but the poor execution by the point guard running the offense just killed us. Too many turnovers, not enough consistency and some bad officiating cost us the game....not the coach. I don't like the loss anymore then most people do, especially since we had them down by 20 points. Man what a couple of tough back to back losses. :(

We lost this game thanks to the refs, plain and simple. We outscored LA by 16 points in the paint, yet Kobe alone had more FTs than the entire Rockets team combined.

Yes, we played like crap in 2OT, but this game wouldn't have even gotten to overtime if it was called properly.
