Is Dennis Rodman looking to make another NBA comeback?

The seven-time NBA rebounding champion visited with Indiana Pacers president Donnie Walsh on Wednesday, the Indianapolis Star reported.

"We met to see if there was any interest on both sides," Walsh said. "It has not gone any further."

Walsh told the Star he has met with some players the past few weeks in an effort to add depth to his front line.

"We're finishing looking around," Walsh said.

The 40-year-old Rodman has had two unsuccessful comeback attempts since 1997-98, his last full season in the NBA. He played in 23 games for the Lakers in the 1998-99 season and played for Mark Cuban’s Mavericks for 12 games in 1999-00.

Rodman has five NBA championship rings and career averages of 7.3 points and 13.1 rebounds a game.

Rodman has a long-standing relationship with Pacers coach Isiah Thomas, dating to their days as teammates with the Detroit Pistons.

When the Mavs signed Rodman they went into a tailspin that only ended when he was released. Rodman == cancer.

A team has to be really desperate to sign this weirdo. If he can't hack it with the Zen-Meister and the Fakers, what makes anyone else think that he can do anything positive for them?

The Rockets should sign Rodman. Their rebounding problems would be completely solved.

I honestly think the Blazers would be interested in acquiring Rodman if possible.

They seem to love: 1. headcases and 2. forwards
    Rodman fits the bill perfectly

    F - Wallace - headcase/towel flinging
    F - Kemp - 7 illigitimate kids
    F - Patterson - rapist
F - Davis - he looks evil. i always picture him with horns/also attacked Horry for no reason in that whole team meltdown against the Lakers
    F - Pippen - total jackass
F - Randolph - make sure you get traded like O'neal before they corrupt you
F/G - Anderson - seems to have an attitude
F/G - Wells - something about fights, cursing at police?
Just toss Rodman right in there.

Randolph was arrested several times in the past few years... that's part of the reason he fell so low in the draft-- his history. He fits right in! :)

Erick Barkley and Bonzi Wells got into a fight with some other ppl and were arrested because they wouldn't leave.

Zack Randolph was arrested for helping a friend rob a gunshop in highschool. Right now, Big Zack has the great Shawn Kemp to take him under his wing. Hide your Krispy Kremes.

Who knows, maybe Sabonis killed some people in Lithuania?

Well, at least Randolph has Rasheed to help him with his anger issues. . .

One way to get Rodman back into the NBA would be to move a team to Vegas that would get him back in the league. And give David Stern a heart attack but thats another story.
