Ok, I'm looking for a .38 Special with a "zero profile" hammer that is an ultra light.. Any idea of a good one or place to check one out, also what brands should I stay away from in the .38 range? I've only been to Academy and their selection was very limited in .38.. I'm in West Houston closer to Katy and I plan on checking out Bass Pro Shop this weekend..
plan on shooting someone? i mean really... why do people need handguns? they are made to shoot people... you obviously dont go hunting with it.
handguns are good for protecting your home against would-be robbers. how do yall gun owners feel about buying from gun shows rather than stores?
I think it'd be hard to go wrong with S&W in the kind of gun you are looking at. I've only shot a couple and they're not my thing so I can't give you specific advice, but typically I really like S&W revolvers.
Email me through the BBS. I guarantee I can beat the price at any store. Gunshows are best for guns that are used. The gunshows in Houston don't attract many large retailers at all. At the last Reliant show I can only think of two or three tables run by retailers who brought large numbers of guns. Truthfuly, in terms of guns available your options will be somewhat limited. Not many people really make them as much any more. As far as brands, off the top of my head I can only think of 4 that make guns that might fit the bill: Smith & Wesson Taurus Charter Arms Rossi I'm sure that there are a couple more, but not many. Most gun companies today concentrate on Glock or 1911 style guns. S&W make good guns but you really pay for the name & image, sometimes up to 2x as much as one of the other brands. If money were not an issue I would probably buy a S&W. Since it is for me, my personal preference would be Taurus, which is makes a large number of different types of revolvers in Brazil. They make very solid guns. They don't have the pedigree and name recognition of some of the others, but they are very well made. As stated if you would like some specific information or any quotes email me through the BBS.
Forget the handgun and get an AK-47 When you absolutely, postively GOT to kill every m*thererf*cker in the room, accept no substitutions!
Just call the cops when someone breaks into your home, I'm sure they will take lot's of nice pictures and fill out a report.
this is my advice too, if you don't care about price then s&w is the way to go... otherwise Taurus is a good brand. i've heard they use old s&w machines, so you're basically getting a s&w with the Taurus stamp.
"Guns.....lots of guns" Why a gun though? I mean, I love guns, but not for killing. If you are gonna kill a burglar or robber use knives. I would keep a set of throwing knives next to my bed, and/or shuriken.
Haven't police even started turning away from weapons that kill and moved more towards weapons that incapacitate? Not that I care either way....if you're guaranteed to be a responsible gun owner, then more power to you.
