Did anybody tape his halftime interview? When Costas asked why Jackson didn't go from the Bulls to a middle-of-the-pack team, Jackson said something like the following: "Losses take a tremendous toll. ... Physically, I'm not for made for that kind of grind." Damn straight. And Fifi the poodle ain't made to hunt.
b**** ass excuse!(Can I say that?) That is why Rudy T will be even greater in my opinion. Not only did he win with 2 different styles, but he is now building a winning team with a whole different PHILOSOPHY!(No pun intended to the king of philosphy BS.) ------------------ I Want To Thank God For Making Me A Rocketfan
Will, Actually, the poodle is made to hunt. They were bred in Germany much in the same way as the German Shepherd. There hair was bred to help them in wet conditions. (I think) ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
DREAMer, Oh hell....do we have to get technical about poodles? Will was speaking of a particular poodle, Fifi.....you know, the little pristine white dog with the pink bow and teased ears? Tee hee! Anyway, I thought that was funny too. Jackson admitted he was cowardly and could not take losing games. COWARD!!! He has coached for teams that don't need a coach at all. SCREW that! ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
HOOP-T, That's the same poodle I'm referring to. Now, a 'minature' poodle is a different story. The full-sized breed is a hunting dog. Besides, I knew what Will was trying to say, I was just trying to be a little sarcastic/humorous. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
DREAMer, I was also being sarcastic! I had no idea poodles were originally bred for that purpose. I learn something new every day from the BBS! ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
Nobody discredits a player for going to a team with great pieces around, or a CEO going to a good company that just needs some tweaking, I don't see the difference with coaches. Phil J may be an arrogant SOB (not that I completely agree with this), but he is a great coach--or at least is a great frontman for pulling in great staffs--but this is splitting hairs and it is results that count. ------------------ "The Rockets were ahead of the Suns by 20 late in game 2 of the series, but when the going got tough, we just Pippened . We would not be done in the series though."
Sir, don't be so sure about nobody discrediting players for only going to winners. When Barkley came here, I looked at it as him not being good enough to win on his own, so he had to piggy-back on to the Rockets to try to get a ring. Same with Clyde. Although he was a great player, he wasn't good enough to build a champion around, so he had to jump on Olajuwon's back to get one. If Grant Hill leaves Detroit for greener pastures, I will definitely think the same of him. He's got good enough guys to work with to where that team should be better than it always is. I used to hate it when Barkley would say "I'll play for the minimum and be a bench warmer for somebody, I just want a ring". Geez, go out with some dignity. ------------------ Too-Rye-Aye!
Freak, I am glad to see your consistency on this issue, but I dare say most of the Phil's critics wouldn't knock Clyde and Chuck (and Pippen before he became possessed) for joining the can't-beat-em, join-em, club that Hakeem lead. ------------------ "The Rockets were ahead of the Suns by 20 late in game 2 of the series, but when the going got tough, we just Pippened . We would not be done in the series though."
