Rockets exercised the option on the 4th year of Franchise today. They also signed Terence Morris to a mult-year contract.

    Finally some GOOD news.

    thx OS

I know Old School knows this, but I want to answer it before others ask. Technically, we didn't "sign" Francis. It was a team option locked in at a 26.2% increase. For other reference, we had until Oct 31st to exercise the option. That raise will go into effect *after* this upcoming season. Plus, update your salary cap figures, because Morris is a hit now. At minimum, I suppose.

    verse,

Do you mean trade Griffin? As for free agency, Griffin already is a cap hit. Signing him might not effect the cap at all, and technically could actually lower it, but almost certainly won't increase it more than signing Morris just did.

It seems odd that we'd sign Morris, if we were trying to preserve our miniscule cap room.
