Duh. Vince. No brainer. Even when you say it out loud "we passed on Vince Young" you still can't believe it. And not for Reggie Bush, but for Mario f'n Williams. It is like a bad dream or a joke. It's completely unfathomable that we didn't take VY. It is the stupidest decision I have ever heard of. A complete moron could would take Vince. 31 of 32 GMs would have taken VY or Reggie Bush. Mario sucks, it was a bad pick, a stupid pick, everybody knows it.
If San Diego can take Phillip Rivers when they already had Brees, we could've taken Vince while Carr is still on the roster.
I agree 100%. I like Vince, I like Bush, I like Mario, but all this once in a generation crap is boring. The Texans needed AN OFFENSIVE LINE. Brick and Mangold, then grab Ryans in the 2nd round...what an awesome draft that would have been.
You guys cannot keep blaming the o-line. Yes they are not very good but having a guy like Carr back there doesnt make it any better. The Cardnals have a crappy line yet Matt Lienart can trow 300+ ydsand even Edge is been gettin 100 lately. Peyton Manning doesnt have a great line and he's still getting it done. They arn't establishing the running game, not because the oline, but because the rbs suck. Not one of these guys could start on any other team in the NFL or even be a backup. They have to get competant players at these positions. They cant just keep drafting guys in the 6th rond and expect them to produce. Hell, the Titans dont have a very good line yet Vince YOung has been able to win almost every week.
The o-line has been the excuse for 5 yrs. Enough already. Tennessee's o-line sucks pretty hard too. The QB makes the offense look better and worse in Carr's case. no more excuses, Carr is bad.
The guy sucks!!!! Its not like he is shawn merriman or even demarcus ware. The guy has barely looked average. He does not look fast. His moves suck. He can't seem to use his strength. Freaking ND kalu looks better. Am I blind? I hate Vince but would kill to have him instead of mario. Bush and Leinart would also be better. A great question would be:Who would you rather have mario or Demeco? The answer is clearly demeco
After Sunday's game and the previous results the last 3 weeks from there, VY in a landslide! Carr has had opportunities albeit limited ones but, he contributes nothing to the success of this team. He has no pocket presence, leadership or ability to elevate his teammates play like the great ones do. Sure he makes some plays, but the ones you need when the game is on the line, you can see it in his eyes and in his body language he does not have the confidence to get it done or inspire his teammates to help GET IT DONE! The experiment has failed and failed miserably but for those who want to pile on Kuby for this, remember he had exactly one week to gather any info into deciding if he could help resuscitate Carr's career or go in another direction with VY or Leinart. I gave Carr to midseason this year to show something, he needs to go somewhere else and try to mend is tattered career. My friend who went with me to the game, saw David exiting the stadium, he waved with his head mostly down because he knows that performance on Sunday just sealed his fate. He's a goner! All that being said, lets cut our losses and get a QB that CAN lead. Maybe Quinn or Kolb, someone who knows how to perform in the big time situations. Carr never had a clue in that respect. Sadly, they wont have VY's intangibles but we have to start somewhere because right now their is NO dropoff in the teams performance because we NEVER went anywhere with Carr! Start with Sage next year and give the newcomer time on the bench to learn for at least most of next season or perhaps start them in their 2nd year like Philip Rivers in SD. That situation worked out pretty good didnt it?
