    Anybody been there?

My wife is going to Pakistan in a week. On the way back she has a hold in Bahrain for a day and was wondering what to do there.

Great place. I enjoyed it a lot but since it's been 7 years I don't remember anything. It's progressive compared to other Muslim countries in the area. Saudis go to Bahrain to do things they can't do at home.

It's much much more progressive than the rest of the middle east. Bahrain and Dubai are the two areas that are very distinct in relation to the rest of the region. But unlike Dubai (which has basically sold itself as a tourist destination), Bahrain really doesn't have that much to do. You can find synagogues, hindu temples, etc.. in Bahrain and tolerance there is very high in comparison to the rest of the region.

A lot of people speak english there too so language isn't too big of a barrier there. But basically, all you can really do is go to the malls and shop there.

    I LOVE BH.....LOVE IT.

BH is our getaway from saudi. It's our paradise, with out it I would have gone insane while in Saudi.

If you're wife is into shopping etc....the malls in BH are freaking huge.

The theaters are a good place to waste a lot of time.....best theater seats ever...they are like lazy boys.

but yeah...I really can't think of much to do there.

When we drove across the causeway it was to go and relax in Bahrain. We went for the resturants to have pork etc and to drink a few beers, and waste a day at the malls etc.

We did stay at an awesome resort there once, beautiful.

Get a ticket from Air Arabia which will cost you peanuts. It's a 1 hour flight. Go to Dubai and you will have so much more to do.

I know you've been here though so you may want to experience Bahrain now.

Nah you can get away with that, especially in Dubai. Some of those women there are probably making Allah very mad considering what they are wearing. Also, there are tons of Europeans there that don't follow the Islamic dress codes.

Oh and if you're into hip-hop, Mos Def is going to be performing on Tuesday. He's been vacationing in Dubai for a week or so.

I'm not going. My wife is going with her family. Of course I recommended Dubai to the, but they could not find a flight over there.

You are not "Sane" are you?

^ I don't think Bahrain has any oil.

I hear the beaches are nice.
