On the fumble where the Raiders scored the TD, David sat with the ball for 6 seconds in the pocket. This ain't all on the OL. I've said it before...I've never seen a player have more excuses made for him. Some said Vick was a coach killer....apparently Carr is headed that direction. If people are willing to blame this on Kubiak to deflect blame from Carr, that's all you need to know.
Welcome to the board David, hope you're enjoying your time in Houston. You think we're basing this on the 10 games we've played this season? This franchise is in its 5th season and the only constants throughout all the losing has been David Carr and Bob McNair. You're one of the few that actually still support Carr, but don't act like we don't have any reason to bash the guy. We've heard every single excuse made for the guy, it's time for Carr to start owning up for his play. Kubiak doesn't adjust? Funny thing is that Kubiak made the biggest half-time adjustment of the season (deciding not to pass anymore) and we won the game!! Carr hasn't taken care of the ball all season long, I don't blame Kubiak one second for wanting to get the ball out of his hands. It happened in Tennessee and it happened again in Oakland, one resulted in a big comeback (in a losing effort) and the other resulted in a win. Go figure.
"People" are willing to blame Kubiak...you must mean that one single poster. Carr has a very bad feel for the pocket, I agree with that.
The guy has no talent on major positions on offense. Even in Denver, Kubiak had capable running backs. Ron Dayne, who wasn't good enough to be Denver's # 3 back was the Texans Starter as soon as he signed! He also has quite possibly the worst starting quarterback in the NFL. Any player that throws the way Carr did yesterday does not deserve to be in the NFL. On no other team in the NFL could Carr or Wali Lundy or Samkon Gado be starters. He took over the crappiest franchise in American sports and what do you expect? Hes not gonna turn it around in 1 year. The defense has improved significantly because they are young and players Kubiak picked himself. I think Kubiak is starting to realize he made a mistake with carr. Besides that, I dont see anything wrong with the way he has conducted buisiness. Denver was a much more talented team and his system worked with those players. When he starts bringing more talented guys and maybe a quarterback that can throw more than 35 yds in a game, this team could have a chance. Maybe if he got a running back that wasnt slow and huge, they could gain some yards on the ground. It's too early to call him failure. But, say he stick with Carr till his contract runs out or neglects to improve the running back position, there will be a problem. But until then, he's basically just inherited a bad team. No coach in the NFL could have made the Texans improve tremendously from last year.
Ummm...we won the game. And Carr is not the answer. I am finally off his bandwagon. He didn't run pass plays b/c carr was awful and shaken. And again, we won.
yeah..let's talk about that. what was it?? 3rd and 12..something like that?? and he runs the ball up the middle to take a shot at a 45+ yard FG. did anyone else have a problem with that?? or see that as chicken?? or is it because he feels so limited by Carr??? remember, he beat Oakland that way.
