WTF, tmac carried us for most of first 3 quarters, and got injured, then you people want to trade him/buy him out... WoW you are good fans... what the
okay this is the thing I am really REALLY worried right now because Tmac went down from a normal jump...he didnt get hit or whatever...and this is bad news man i hate this ****
The wizard announcers said it was another back spasm for Tmac, as per their locker room reporter. Tmac didn't elevate that high for the shot so hopefully he just slightly tweaked his back. Maybe he'll be back in a game or too?
good news is that the next game is a few days away so he can rest up. the landing looked a bit weird. i think since he didnt land square it shot up his nerve. i have had this happen to me before it hurts like a b but i was fine later that day, but i dont have a history of a bad back like tmac so i dont know. i wish a bit more info was available about it. let the bbs be inundated with threads until tuesday
think about it, just one meaningless jump and he's out, damn, just shows how random and unique sports, and life are in general. Hope he comes back. He was just getting back in to shape too, attacking the rim, not settling, hope this doesn't revert him back to taking jumpers.
Not that there's ever a bright side to one of your star players going down with back spasms, but it put the pressure on Yao to step up big in a tight game in a back-to-back situation on the road(not to mention their 4th game in 5 nights) and he was a beast out there. He even delivered a chestbump at the end. I just hope T-Mac isn't down for long. They can survive against the Fakers, especially if Kobe doesn't play. But the 5-game roadie after that will be tough with only Yao in the lineup.
I hope its minor but thats being very optimistic. We have two days off so maybe he can be ready by Tuesday. All the role players have to take it up a notch if he is out for a few games. It was such a bitter-sweet game.
It appears that some of the posters here did not watch the game. To clear up any confusion, T-Mac hurt his back on the jump. Watching the replay on my DVR, it is obvious that he reaches for his back after he starts his jump and before he lands. The back spasm had nothing to do with the landing. I think the root cause was what the first poster said about how he was sitting down on the bench that whole time when they had the delay due to the problem with the lights. He should have been doing drills or riding a stationary bike to stay loose. I hope it's not a real problem and that he's being extra conservative. As sad as it is to admit this, without T-Mac, there is probably only a 40% chance we beat the Lakers (and even if they play without Kobe, it's probably no better than 50%). The most frustrating part of it all is that T-Mac was starting to play more aggressively and be more of a shoot-first guy. We need that player to get past the first round of the playoffs this year.
It also looked like he landed a little awkwardly when he finished that alley oop. It looked like it tightened up a little on that play and then the arenas play really finshed it. This is a bad night for Rockets fans. Make no mistake, this team is only going as far as T-Mac can take them. We have to have Y-mac to do real damage this yr in the post season.,
It might have been that play before he made that nice block where he was limping. After teh block he seemed to be ok. I think he hurt his leg and was overcompensating the whole game. This is one of those things that I hope it's Drama Queen Tmac. I don't mind him pussying out on this one. Let's hope it's nothing serious. Let's just hope he got so scared by it that it was that more than anything. I have a back problem and sometimes you feel like you reinjured the back even though it might be something like a sore lower back muscle.
