While I agree somewhat, I think people want Mcgrady to take over in the 4th quarter of games like he used to. Once he starts closing out games like in 04-05, I will officially say he's all the way back. I think he'll get there pretty soon. He has been progressing nicely in the last couple of weeks.
TMac is struggling, NOT coasting. When you coast, your output would be less, but you don't intentionally shoot a low percentage. His shots are definitely off. That being said, I believe he still has it in him, and he only needs to have his mind cleared. I believe his struggle have more to do with his mind rather than his body. Is TMac still a superstar? I would say, so far in less than 20 games, he hasn't been playing superstar like, but I am quite confident he will pick it up where he left 2 seasons ago. Then, nobody would even ask this question.
I'm waiting till February, since someone said he get's to be the Real McGrady only around then. If he's not what we expect by then, maybe age and usage is wearing him out. By no means does this mean he's useless, or should be replaced, the team and most of all the coach, must find ways to turn weaknesses to strengths(as in his 3 points not good? emphasize in passing and 2 pointers, or getting more fouls etc). I see basketball, as the big guys game mostly. As useful as Batier is, the team needs a solid big player that can make a difference. Unless you can find a new Drexler, or Jordan, or Wayde, etc. Even then, good big guys used properly can make a difference. And defense of course. McGrady is not a problem really, not yet anyway, and he could play the point eventually longer, if needed.
