TMac's evolving. Everyone will decide what he is during playoffs.

Yes, he's a superstar. Even with his relative struggles on offense, I can count on one hand the number of players who're as versatile and can dominate the game without scoring.

There aren't many guys in the league period who can do what McGrady does. His scoring is down mainly because he isn't taking nearly as many shots as he did in the past and isn't shooting the jumper as well early on in this season. However, there is no doubt in my mind that he's coasting, and he seems intent on doing so until the playoffs get around. I think he's concerned about one and only one thing at this point: being healthy for the playoffs.

You can disagree with his approach, as I am sure many do, but it don't matter, he IS clearly coasting, but we're winning even without him dominating offensively, but he's definitely doing more than he has in the past in other aspects of the game.

Learn to appreciate the guy for a change, it's like people complaining about Yao because he isn't Dream or Shaq or whomever else. T-Mac is STILL one of a handful 'five tool' players in this league.

As his commercial goes, "you're fooled" if you thought that his 'complacency' on offense compared to his past is a sign of him not being a superstar anymore. But it's not surprising either, because for many NBA fans the only indicator of 'greatness' is your scoring average.

    I pity you fools...

If he plays more Magic-like role in this team, I will still take him as a superstar, who might be more dangerous than the old-time TMac.

    I don't see how he isn't...

People dream to one day become as good as him, he has tens of millions of fans, gets double teamed all day, makes his teammates better, gets paid like 20 million, and is known all around the world.

Noone said he sucks, just asking is he a superstar. His passing is greater than exceptional, except when he's leaving his feet to pass the ball giving up TO's.

I've appreciated him but if you think him being passive will get this team past round 1, there is a rude surprise coming.

BTW, Im not one to look at scoring averages, but he is no longer the pure scorer that he was. Its great that he's taken a backseat to Yao with no ego, and I think he took alot of unfair criticism for it, but in certain cases he needs to be called out simply because he seems all too comfortable and complacent in this role as well.

The only rude surprise any of you doubters will get is when he dominates in the playoffs again.

McGrady is COASTING, he's not disabled. He's being semi-passive on offense, but he's still more than capable to kick arses and take names.

You guys will look stupid when the playoffs roll around, I can guarantee that much. Just don't join his bandwagon then.

And yes, he is very much a superstar, and still easily top 5 at his position.

All Im saying is, I want him to play like he's capable of. I asked a question what people think. He seems to have lost more of his attitude to stick it to the opposition every night than anything else.

BTW tiger, weren't you the one saying trade Tmac for AI because he'll drive and leave it all on the court and bring it every night. You've suggested the very opposite of what you're saying here.

AI has been for a long time my favorite NBA player, even before McGrady joined the Rockets.

So apologies to T-Mac for throwing him under the bus like that :) , although I wasn't completely off in terms of comparing how the two guys approach each game: AI goes all out every single game, while McGrady picks and chooses when to 'bring it'; that's just his nature.

But let's talk again when it's playoff time, the real T-Mac will show up then. Meanwhile, you're fooled. ;)

He used to be one of the best wings in the league, he's now fallen into the 2nd level of wings with Paul Pierce, Melo, Ray Allen, etc. and is looking up at guys Kobe, Lebron and Wade. I don't know where AI fits so I'll just pretend he's a point guard.

They actually have the same braintype, but it seems AI's environment was much more intense than Tmac's as far as shaping their personalites.

Right now Mac isn't picking when to do it. He's a bit scared saying crap like " I surprised myself".

If Scoring alone defines a superstar then you need to change you're Philosophy. trcy can change a game with he's magical passing, defense and drawing double or triple teams. tracy in the warriors game and tonight showed if he gets going is on par with LBJ and kobe.

He is on top of the league 2-3 years ago, not as good as before, but still a playmaker

When he is retried(maybe 3 years later), we should get Wade here with Yao.
