Anderson, Francis, Mobley, Cato, and Rogers. All keepers, no matter what we're offered in the near future. I like what I've seem from Two Sandwiches so far, but he's a project. The man has GOT to lose some weight. But he's got some moves for a big man, and he might be worth hanging on to. Bullard, well, he's kinda our nostalgic link with the old Rockets, and as long as he can still be a strong 3-shooter off the bench, then he's worth keeping. Walt... If the man ever gets out of his shooting funk, then he's well worth keeping. If he can just get outta the funk... But if he can't, then - I hate to say it, because he's a nice guy and fits in nicely in the organization - he's trade fodder. I'm waiting to see Massenberg again. He looked pretty good when he was out there, but... If he doesn't get out there quick, then he's trade fodder too. Kenny the Rookie looks pretty good, but I question his consistency. This is his opportunity for minutes, and if he wants to be a Rocket next year (or even in the NBA) he'd better take advantage of them. Bryce Drew has his moments, and he'd be pretty damn good if he was even remotely consistent. (I love his floater - he should do that more often). IF he can become more consistent, then he's worth keeping. Stevie DOES need to rest every once in a while... Waiting for Hakeem... But I think we've got a good core to build around. The 5 mentioned at the top form a pretty good core in my mind, though maybe a bit small. All in all, though, pretty good for a team that's forced into rebuilding a year ahead of schedule.
good post. Walt... If the man ever gets out of his shooting funk, then he's well worth keeping. If he can just get outta the funk... But if he can't, then - I hate to say it, because he's a nice guy and fits in nicely in the organization - he's trade fodder I too really hope Wizard gets out of his slump. I mean, if he's got a nickname like the Wizard, then he must be pretty good when he's on target. And he's not like Matt Bullard either. All Matt can do is shoot the 3. Wizard can drive fairly well also. But, Wizard has just plain lost all of his confidence. Now, when he shoots, he thinks he's gonna miss. It's just like Shaq. He makes plenty of free-throws in practice, but in the game, he misses them. I believe it's the same deal with Wizard. But there's nothing you can do but practice, practice, practice, and hope you have a break-out game. I'm waiting to see Massenberg again. He looked pretty good when he was out there, but... If he doesn't get out there quick, then he's trade fodder too. yeah, I hope TMass gets his act together. I was really impressed by him early on, and thought that we had a solid backup for Charles. He can come in here and provide some sort of veteran leadership for the Rockets. Bryce Drew has his moments, and he'd be pretty damn good if he was even remotely consistent. (I love his floater - he should do that more often). He does have a nice floater. If we still had Barkley, then I'm sure Drew would be putting up 8-10 pts a game. Now, it's a little harder for Drew to get off his shots, but I still think we should keep him. He reminds me of Hornacek, and Horny wasn't really even that good of a shooter when he came into the league. Plus, Bryce has got a hard work ethic. Man, I agree with you on everything you said. I mean everything. Kenny Thomas is looking good; he has shown some good post moves and can hit the 3 ptr, and can get rebounds. Pretty good for a late first round pick. THamm is looking good and if he could lose some weight, there's no end to the possibilities with him. Who knows? he could be the next Shaq. GOOD POST treeman
Francis3: If he's in there with the right guys (Stevie, Cat, Shandon, or even Drew), then he doesn't have to. And if he loses a little weight - stops eating 12" subs and settles for 6" subs - then maybe he'll learn to dribble... He's pretty damn quick for a man his size. Have you seen him? The man is HUUUUGE... One thing I like about him is that when he's in the paint on D, whoever's attacking has to ACT like they're playing against two people...
