bonzi, sura, juho, and alston works for iverson. add a pick somewhere and I believe it's an even trade.

hey we got CHA tonight, this is more entertaining.

Yes I actually forgot I wanted to add in: "So yes, it's Vecsey - take it with a grain of salt."

But then again, the Sixers really do suck this year. So.. maybe Peter's right?

Until I see a quote from AI himself, I don't believe a word of this.

Even if AI is getting traded, hypothetically... we have no chance in the world of landing him. So this doesn't mean anything to me.

Iverson has 3x the heart tmac has. Unfortunately, Iverson's game is the main reason he wll never win a ring.

i would jump at the chance to do this, without getting rid of yao, tmac and keeping novak and v-span.

    that would give us.

    yao
    tmac
    battier
    IVERSON
    head
    novak
    padgett
    v-span
    lucus
    deke
    hayes

and we sign a pf for cheap, hell yeah,at least try, recruit him tmac!

What if he actually demanded a trade to Houston.

Then they have no other choice. I'd even add Hayes or Head in the mix too.

Definitely worth it. I am so sick of Alston!

To get Iverson, Denver would probably have to give up Miller+Nene+Joe Smith (Expiring)+a pick for Iverson+Bad Contract Player.

If Philly wants to move Iverson, they are going to want to get a decent player in return+pick+dealing a bad contract player for an expiring contract.

I DO think Les would take on Iverson's contract and incur the LT if we could get him. But I dont think the Rockets have the pieces to make a deal work.

I like the idea of Iverson, but we'd have to include Alston and Howard to make the salaries match, meaning that Philly wouldn't get a lot of cap relief out of the deal. And I doubt they want Bonzi. Essentially, the only desirable assets Philly would get out of dealing with us would be Alston, a little cap space, and probably a draft pick. I'm sure they can get better offers. Bottomline: not happening.

You know who could put together a package? The suns could get rid of one of their 3 F's (Amare, Diaw or Marion) who are too expensive to keep all 3 around, IMO, and add in another guard and/or a pick.

Would never happen in a million years, but imagine Leandro Barbosa in the Suns offense - except instead of Leandro Barbosa, it's Allen Iverson.....

if i were the sixers, i'd want to trade him out west so you don't have to play him 4 times a year.

the problem is, the best offers will come from chicago and boston.

chicago :p.j. brown (expiring), gordon (replacement), fillers, knick's pick.

boston: wally, telfair, green, choice of pick or gomes.

I agree they ideally would love to move him West. And I agree that Boston has pieces that might interest Philly. They have the young players.

The sixers are in a really bad situation. Iverson is on the wrong side of 30, has a history of injuries, and his playing style leaves him vulnerable to injuries on a daily basis. The only teams that will want to trade for him are teams that want to win right now, but those teams really can't trade a star player. Philly, however, won't take a bunch of scrubs in return unless they get a high draft pick. Obviously, no team is going to trade a young star for an older star.

For some reason, Iverson for Marbury keeps popping into my head. Both are about the same age, both are unhappy where they are, and both are pretty much the same player, except that Iverson takes more shots. With Iverson in New York, he can focus on scoring and Francis can focus more on playmaking. With Marbury, the Sixers will get a player that is less prone to injury and still young enough to allow them to get a package together for an inside presence that can play some defense.

Garnett for Iverson, with a little filler on each side? That may be running in place for both teams, but maybe they can pretend they're doing something to help themselves out of mediocrity.

What I would be really interested in knowing is why AI would ask for a trade...something he repeatedly said he would never do. What sequence of events led to this?

Of course, that's all assuming that the rumor is true.

And A-Train, I can't believe you compared the legend known as A.I. to that freakin' loser Marbury...that's just uncalled for, man. That's like comparing Shareef Abdul-Raheem (SAR) to Sir Charles.
