I think this week has made me realize that I am not a Texans fan like people such as Meowgi. I've tried and tried but they never really sucked me in. Instead they just make mistake after mistake and I think I am finally fed up with it. Vince coming back to Houston on a different team might be the final nail. I guess I will just remain a fan of the NFL in general and die hard fan of College sports. I do enjoy going to that stadium though, and wish I was a die hard fan. Its almost as if they are just some generic NFL team, nothing in particular stands out and entices you. It's not good when the stadium is the best thing about your team. Secretly, it has almost become more fun to watch their ineptitude
That depends on what day of the week it is. Anyway, how do you know what DD thinks of the Texans/titans/VY situation? He never posts his feelings about it...
1. No, he is stuck with Carr...at least for this year. 2. Bush was not the obvious pick to many of us, the obvious pick was the guy who was a freakish athlete at the most important position on a football team, VY. 3. Fair enough, I guess I can not help but think...what if... Ima, I am a fan of the Texans, just not a passionate one. And I am clearly also a fan of Vince, he is just so danged fun to watch. DD
well put. i didn't want my VY, i wanted Bush. at this point, i realize it was a mistake. let's just move on.
Different scenario, they already had a VERY high quality NFL quarterback....if the Texan's had signed Drew Brees, I would have been in favor of drafting Bush. DD
they have drew brees at QB and not Carr. They also needed a fan draw and at the time Bush was bigger than Vince for that purpose. Vince is a native Houstonian not from NO, that multiplies the stupidity of the Texans thinking
you just described me perfectly. you and i are in the very same boat. as for the last sentence..it's like a train wreck. you can't stop looking.
**** the scenario. VY is Jesus, right? Bush was bigger than Vince? I thought it was hands down Vince mania? Aren't you going to have to punish yourself somehow for saying that? I still think Bush might of saved Carr's career.
I wanted VY, and thought he was the best player coming out of college at the most important position, but if not him then Bush, someone to play a Brian Westbrook role on the Texans. They did neither, and to this day, I am still stunned. It shows why the team still picks at the top of the draft board every year. DD
Maybe not nationwide, but in the State of Texas, Vince is King. VY is coming home..it's time for a parade!!!
I was all for Vince and not bush. I was talking about NO not Houston and what their thinking was (they also should have taken Vince) Houston was just r****ded for not taking Vince. How did Bush save Carr's career?
and why is it theTexabns have no backup because The Texans *NEVER* wanted Carr to feel threatened they *never* even attempt to bring someone in that would vie for the starting position Every QB not named call was basically told upfront. . YOU WILL NOT START NO MATTER WHAT!! That is Bad business in football Call me a VYOF as well . .because I *hated* the titans until he came I never care for the Texans one way or the other I hoped they would be good for houston but every step of the way they disappointed me 1. the Name 2. BUST-sellie 3. David Carr 4. too many draft picks to name 5. Too many free agents to name 6. boring offense 7. lack luster Defense This year the O and the D are better but nothing special I been a rocket fan forever but this team has done NOTHING to make me a fan of theres Rocket River
bush dropped 4 tds the last game, if he's finally playing to his potential, then the Mario Williams pick would not look good. bush's speed for real. lets see how he does against the cowboys, if goes crazy like he did against the 49ers then man. Sam Bowie. VY, Leinart, Bush, they all look pretty good.
I was excited and hopeful about the Texans when they arrived, but tentative about giving them unquestionable support. For many years we tortured ourselves with the Oilers. They tried, but never could quite get there. For me, once a fan I'm pretty much committed through the best and worst. The Texans were expensive for Houston. They've made a number of bad decisions, of which at least some were to save money (last year's defense). They are NOT a championship quality organization, and part of that is a conscious decision imo. Now, they don't have to kick everyone's arse for me to become a fan, but they do have to earn it with commitment and some level of ability. Prove to me they're pursuing a championship and they're not total fu's... and I'll be a fan. VY was just the biggest misstep by these dolts. Sure Mario will be good... but bringing home a native champion would have been special and given this team the character it so sorely lacks. I feel bad for the players who have to struggle each week to pay for mgmt's failures.
but you do understand that everything you are complaining about is due to Bud Adams making the Oilers into the Titans, right?
the best thing about this thread is that it has the potential to last for YEARS. seriously. whether vince becomes great or busts or ends up mediocre...what if carr takes the proverbial crap and his nfl career ends after this year...maybe carr wins on sunday and launches his confidence/career in a new direction...will the titans win a superbowl with vince? will the Texans ever have a winning season? will the Texans ever draft a player from the universiy of Texas? i will do my best to keep this thread alive...forever! go Texans! go Vince! go Longhorns!
This is little like saying .. if my Ex wife had not dumped me . .. My Current Wife would not be cheating on me Rocket RIver
Thats a good point. This thread could last a lifetime. Its impossible to imagine all the great things VY has yet to do, but we have the place right here to post about them,
