Bama has reportedly offered Rich Rodriguez $12M so that should be a done deal.

Shannon was also the leading candidate for the UT DC job, reports are that Jerry Gray (whom the Texans sought after) is very interested in taking the job.

    I hate Paul Dee. :(

I like Shannon, though.....it's just that the offense has SUCKED the past 3 years...and Randy Shannon isn't exactly an offensive guy.

I was actually kind of excited about the possibility of Leach.

Guess this means Jerry Gray will be the Longhorns defensive coordinator.

    That's who I wanted anyway.

Gray would be an excellent choice. I thought Shannon would be the better pick because of his recruiting experience. But Shannon was also looking to be a HC so you know it would have been a 1 or 2 year rental like Robinson and Chizik.

Jerry Gray probably will be hard to get. Someone mentioned his salary at Washington is around $750k annually.

Hiring Shannon just shows you how much the Miami-FL program has fallen. They didn't want to pony the 2mill for Rodriguez nor did they want to pay Leach (making 2mill @ Tech) the same dough. They got this guy for the bargain basement price of 1mill plus incentives. And you knew he wasn't going to turn it down because of his blind loyalty to Miami. There biggest problem was offense and they went out and hired a deffensive coach. :(

Snyder is going to clean house next year coz the Redskins blow. That whole staff is going to get the ax. Plus, Gery stock ha fallen some (look up the numbers on the Redskins secondary) so D-Cordnator at Texas looks attractive and it's a position that leads to better jobs. My only problem is that Texas needs a bad mofo for the linebackers and Gray is a db specialist. other than that I have no problem with Gray. Though Kines out of Alabama (coached Demeco and Mark Anderson) has me intrigued.
