http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=LVM42W2 is westinghouse a good brand for tvs?? anyone experience any promblems??? need feedback please!!!
I have two 37" Westinghouse LCDs and one 32" and have had no problems and the picture is OUTSTANDING !! DD
Westinghouse burns way to bright for my taste. If it'll be used as a PC monitor, it's good. For home theater, it's too harsh.
Why not a 40'' Samsung LCD for $1200? http://www.outpost.com/product/4803710 (sale is for today only)
For some reason I thought it was 1080p. But then the price would be too good to be true... Here's one you might like. I am pretty sure it won't be as good as Westinghouse, but it's cheaper and you get the Costco lifetime return policy which I can't stop raving about! http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11098479&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&s=1 (Deal ends on the 10th)
I own the same TV. A good number of sets have banding issues (but banding has never bothered me much) and has pedestrian black-level performance. However, with a good feed, this TV performs absolutely beautifully. Its definitely a great value considering other 1080p TVs out there can cost $1000 more. If you plan getting one, I highly recommend you get it from crutchfield.com. I've been told they only carry sets with the latest firmware. Older firmware sets reportedly have trouble with EDID handshaking for accepting 1080p inputs through the HDMI port. Regardless of where you buy it though, make sure you're COMPLETELY satisfied with it. The Westinghouse warranty and customer support are absolutely terrible. Once you go past the typical 30-day return policy at the store, I'd say you're pretty much stuck with your TV.
I've got one, the 42", and it's outstanding for the money. A real value. I got it for a song (around $1800) at Best Buy, with a free DVD recorder, and a $100 gift certificate. For a 1080p, at that price, it's hard to beat. Got the extended warranty, because it's a bit of an off-brand. That was cheap as far as those things go, as well. I really wish it was on my bedroom wall, instead of in the living room, lol! Remember that it's a monitor, so you need a HD cable box (which I use from Time/Warner), upconverting DVD player, etc. Xbox360 looks great on it! You could buy a tuner for it, if you think you need one. I haven't bothered. Sound is just OK. You'll want surround at some point, anyway, right?
well i'm planning to place it in my bedroom and will probably purchase it from conns since i qualified for 0 interest for 24 months with no money down. 1699 was the price i seen http://www.conns.com/new/show_product.php?isbn=4838
Westinghouse is ok, the only brand of lcd hdtv I would purchase would be Samsung, Sharp or Sony, the three S's!!!
