I think he or his agent has basically said that they want the opportunity to test free agency after next season...especially after what's happening this offseason. Besides, I thought he already turned the Rockies down once.
What on earth? Either management really doesn't believe in any of our prospects, or they've gone off the deep end and forgotten everything that has made them successful the last 10 years. These rumors are all just bizarre.
i dont buy into anything involving the O's....they are a disaster and their ownership is so f-ed up, its impossible to think that they will ever pull off a major trade
the deal was garland for willy t and buchholz... buchholz supposedly failed the physical so the trade wouldn't happen regardless

Seriously, I realize we need pitching but we've kind of struggled the past two years because we don't have any offense. So I'm not sure why we're dealing Luke Scott for Rodrigo freaking Lopez.

I think all writings and "opinions" of Dick Justice and Ortiz should be put on the "hoopsworld" list. In other words, if you credit them as a source, you should be shot immediately.
SI.com has an article claiming that "recent developments are pushing Pettitte towards the Yanks", including the willingness on the part of the Yankees to go up to 17 million and include a second year in the deal. link I posted the whole article in the Pettitte thread.
Man I really can't stand the Yankees. Steinbrenner throws money around like it's nothing. I don't know how Andy can pass on an extra $5 million, unless he gets some serious pressure from his family to stay at home. If Drayton is willing to up our offer I guess that's a better option than trading right now, as acquiring Petitte is probably our only shot of bringing Roger back. I hope he makes a decision soon. I'm getting tired of checking every 5 minutes to see if anything new has come up.
