I don't think JVG deserves any apologies. But hopefully we can now have reasonable discussions instead of emotional diatribes.

I'm still not satisfied with the offense. I expected the defense to carry us at the beginning of the season and it has. When our offense starts clicking and we demolish weak defensive teams on a regular basis, I'll chime in with more praise for JVG.

    We lost by 8.

I personally consider it a blow-out especially considering how the game swung. At least that game left a blemish that stats cannot really tell. I know will agree that that game felt like a blow out.

    That said, 12-5 is solid.

Please, Yetti! There is no place for profanity in this discussion. This is a family forum after all.

I'll give JVG props if this team wins a championship, but until then he gets zero props.

We should all apologize to JVG right now for questioning his job from our F::King laptops when not one single one of you have proven that:

    1. We could do a better job. what from our couches?

    and

    2. We are wrong around here alot and never want to admit it (especially the JVG haters). Personally I'm glad I've stuck up for him.

FOR ALL OF YOU WHO RESPOND WITH CRAP LIKE "we'll see in June" and "he hasn't won a ring yet": Why don't you all pick the winner of this years NBA championship right now....and then we'll see if you actually have a clue what you are talking about? I will apologize to all the JVG haters if the Pistons don't win it all!

I have a feeling some of the guys wouldn't apologize if they traded Yao for Chuck Nevitt......and by the way EVEN if Yao averaged a 100 pts a year and never won a ring there is no way he should go into the Hall of fame....No ring, No good!! Stick to NBAlive haters. The reason you hate JVG so much is because you are just like him...enslaved to your own egos.
    ;)

I think you just described exactly why Bonzi is not playing on this team.

Sorry, no. Considering he is without a contract, and his future is very much in doubt, this season is precisely the time to question Mr. Van Gundy (actually, last season was, and if not for Le$ folly...).

Hopefully Les waits till after playoffs to review JVG's status. That way he wont make the same mistake twice by extending JVG.

I am hoping he doesn't get suckered with the inflated win record over bad teams.

Les needs to ask himself... Do I want championships or am I content with simply making the playoffs?

Since when is "Now is the time to question Mr. Van Gundy" a flame?

I wrote nothing about him personally or professionally, just that his current situation (or lack thereof) is ripe for commentary, both positive and negative. A head coach without a contract is *precisely* when fans need to get their opinions out there. That (as of the last time I checked) slightly more than half of the fans do not feel Mr. Van Gundy is good for the team (as per a poll) should be filtered through the folks monitoring this board, and gotten to Mr. Alexander.

I'm around, and posting, apparently in threads that you choose not to read.

That is quite possible. I try to avoid threads that I know will only piss me off.
