Anybody have this phone? I think I want to get a new phone, I'm already with Verizon. I think it will be easier to just stick with them than mess with switching to Cingular even though I like a lot of their phones. If you have it, what are your thoughts? Worth the price? Pros/Cons? Thanks.
i have one. can't sit it down w/o someone commenting on it. don't think it's overrated, but lg has made better phones (see the 8100 and 8300). not a bad mp3 player (just get a 2 gig mini sd). also cool phone to watch vid files on if you have a vid to 3gp converter. also, the battery on this phone severely sucks donkey balls. can't get through the day w/o having to charge it (and half the time i'm just letting it sit on my desk). get the extended although it'll make the phone bigger. actually i have the black one and was thinking about getting the green extended battery for it, so it would like like a constructicon transformer (though those were green and purple iirc). if you're looking for a phone that looks cool, then yah... the choc is it, but the 8300 is better all around with the same functionalities.
The LG 8600 (the Chocolate flip) is a better phone. It's got all the functionality of the Chocolate, minus the annoying slider and touch-sensitive directional keys (it does have touch-sensitive music player keys on the outside, though). Plus, it's thinner than the Chocolate, too. I'm currently in the market for a new Verizon phone, and I'm seriously considering the 8600 (although I'm leaning towards the Q).
This MAN bought the Chocolate and I love it. Men and women compliment me on the phone all the time. The battery life seems great to me. However, I really don't talk on my phone until after work. The touch pad takes a lil getting used to though. The MP3 player plays well and the camera is ok (about what you would expect from a cellie). The only things I don't like about the phone are: A) The slider. There isn't anything wrong with it, but this is my first slider phone. B) The contact groups only allow you to save 10 contacts per group. I think that is extremely stupid. This also means you can only text 10 people at a time. C) It did not initially have a speakerphone. You can go to a verizon store now and have them download that option, but it takes about an hour. I love the phone though.........
The Chocolate is actually a really good phone. At first I initially didnt like it because it did not have internal memory, but my friend that went with me to Miami has it and I got to play with it and thought it was an awesome phone. It takes pretty decent pics and the touchpad is smooth and doesnt have much issues. Vecesy, really going for the Q? Its actually a REALLY good deal right now for $100 but if u can throw down a bit more, go for the Samsung i730. It is bulkier, but does so much more than the Q minus the camera. btw, im pretty sure ive mentioned this before, but I work for the Verizon's incall tech support for PDAs, Smartphones, and PC cards. So if u have any questions about those products, fire away.
