It's not about Yao, and it's not about T-mac - it's about YaoMac

I assert that it doesn't matter who scores 27 vs. 20......as long as one of these guys gets 27 and the other 20. That is, who care if Yao score more or if T-mac scores more?

Le'ts look at what the damage they do combined is.

I wager anyone that if "Yaomac" score 45+ points, get 15+ rebs, 10+assists, 2+ steals, 2+ blocks, and < 7 TO's in any game - it's a Rockets win 95% of the time....

....REGARDLESS of who does the most damage. It doesn't matter if it all comes from T-mac, or if it all comes from Yao.

So let's stop looking at these guys as individuals - afterall, they are teammates - superstar teammates - who are supposed to pick each other up if one is having a bad game. So maybe....just maybe....we need to look at what they do together instead of separately.

Yeah true we should be looking at it like:

The Houston Rockets, led by Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, are 11-5 and are one of the league's best defensive teams.

Neither of them look at it individually, nor does the team, so it's only right that the fans don't either.

Why did you put Yao in front of Mac? I think it's about MacYao. I think you are a YOF.

Our record is great with both of them. Let's hope they are healthy for the playoffs.

It depends on who is your favorite player!!!
Some want Tracy to be the big name on the rockets .
Others want Yao Ming to be the big name on the rockets
It doesn't really matter as long as they take us all the way :p[/QUOTE]

Well so far when Yao leads the team in scoring we are 9-1. Let one of the statheads explain that.

It's NOT about Yao or Tmac. It's about the Rockets! The Rockets not only needs Yao and Tmac but also needs the role players to play well to win games, not to mention the NBA title.

Many of us want Tmac to pass the ball to Yao more, especially the early in game, so that it gets the big man going. Once he dominates the opposing center, the other team defense will collapse on him. Then, it will free up Battier, Alston, Head, and so on for open jumpers. Besides, Tmac can shoot whenever he wants.

I actually even don't care how much YAO+TMAC will get, as long as Rockets win. If JL3 get 50 pts a game and win, I am happy as well.

Agreed. I definitely understand why many of us want to see Yao and T-Mac succeed statistically (in Yao's case, it's literally the only way he can get respect, unfortunately, and even then he doesn't- quite funny how Joe Johnson gets praise for being a superstar in averaging 26 points and Yao is practically criticized for doing the same). But, to be honest, who among us wouldn't trade MVP awards, leading the league in scoring, etc., for a championship? Sure, it'd be great to have both, but if forced to choose...ah, I'll take a championship.

Look at the Pistons from 2 years ago- does anyone even remember who their high scorer was? Or Shaq and Kobe- yes, Shaq got the MVPs, but does anyone remember who had the higher scoring average in the regular season during their 3rd championship run? Who was San Antonio's 2nd leading scorer after Duncan in their 2003 championship?

Just keep the wins coming, boys!

its official i don't believe yao will ever get the respect he deserves, not until he brings home the trophy. we'll show the world who's the best. as of right now were nearly there, just not 100% there. we still need to tweak our bench a bit, and by i bit i mean we need a 3rd option for scoring, aka novak/wells/vspan.
