I didn't get to catch the game, but man I just saw his statline for todays game.

14 solo tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and an interception!

    Damn talk about DROY.

    he almost had two INTs.

the one that he missed, he had open real estate.

how bout them 2 solo tackles by williams? eh eh? :D

thats 1 more solo than bobby carpenter got for the cowboys today....

yeah, those 2 1st round picks are working out really well for both teams.

If you are saying williams was a dumb pick, you dont watch teh texans. The guy was an absolute beast out there. Its sad he didnt get anything on his stats. He hurried the Qb on numerous occations, leading to quick throws that were incomplete, other TMs getting sacks, and he even hit the quarterbacks hand or ball that led to an interception once. The announcers were all over him today. If we had a better secondary that didnt give up quick passes, Mario would have a lot more sacks right now.

Both Mario and Demeco are great picks. I dont think it is bold to say these are the 2 best defensive rookies out of the draft.

IMO one of the only bright spots this season for the Texans.

i don't want to hijack the thread anymore than i already have, but i am saying williams was a dumb pick.

how about 4 tds today by bush
    or
come from behind wins 2 weeks in a row by v young

williams will be a nice player, like carpenter and demeco, but those 2 are special.

You do realize Mario was doubled today right? Makes it kind of hard to do much, but he did make it MUCH easier for his teammates.

Demeco was flat out AWESOME. He almsot had a 2nd INT where he had the whole field open and it would have been a TD.

I didn't get to see the whole game, but on one particular play saw Mario club the OG into the fullback and almost disrupt the entire backfield. Lucky for the Raiders that the play was going the other way.

You can't compare VY and Bush to Mario because their job is to score and Mario's is to stop the other team from scoring. The defense is head and shoulders better than last year and the primary reasons why are Mario and DeMeco.

I've never seen a set of fans for a team want their own draft pick to fail just so they can tell everyone I told you so. VY and Bush should be good players for their careers, Bush has yet to revolutionize the game and if you believe this decoy bullsh!t then you've been deluded by ESPN and all the other hype machines. I'm a Texans fan regardless of who they passed up in the draft; Kubiak decided he needed a pass rush and wanted to get the defense better faster and chose the best rated defensive player in the draft first overall. Luckily we had a great draft and found some more contributors. So quit all the hindsight talk, because if you're gonna do that start at the beginning of the franchise and see who they could have picked and you're gonna have your heart broken several times. Hindsight is a b****, lets look forward and hope that we have another stellar draft. GO TEXANS!

So just because RB did well today, Mario was a bad pick? Way to ride the bandwagon there. Where was all this past weeks when RB had -5 yards rushing? Mario is a BEAST. Here are some "numbers":

    - 4 hurries, one which led to interception
    - drew 2 holding penalties, both at the point of attack
    - out of the 22 rushes by OAK....only THREE to his side...resulting in FOUR yards

RB had 10 rushes for 31 yards. 3 of his TD's came from those 31 yards...that shows that its due more to the situation than to his abilities as a rusher.

I agree. RB's runs were easy. Even Radio could have scored those td's.

    or Radar the weather dog....

New Orleans is adamant in making him score those TDs. They were at the one.... They ran RB over McAllister.... ok... that didn't work... Let's do it again! He dove over the line and for awhile, it almost look like it was a fumble, but he crossed the plane.

He is a nice passing option, BUT he'll never be a deep threat, it seems. His routes are all 4-6 yards long and they hope he can juke a defender or two. That'll work wonders with him and Dominick Davis around. We'll have one of those on both sides of the field!

Oh yeah, Having VY seems like a great option, but I can't imagine him throwing deep to Andre Johnson at all. I think having VY might kill AJ in the process. His deep throws have been more to the other team than his own lately.

Now, back to topic, Demeco Ryans is an absolute beast! His contributions is next to none, even to Mario for the Texans. Mario, though, was absolutely dominating. He was bulldozing over the offensive line and was double teamed. He was also held numerous times and gotten penalties called where otherwise, it would've been sacks. You can't fault him for not having those showing up on the statline.
