they can set double picks for a mid-ranger for novak. he's not super fast but he is quick enough for that sort of thing. i would love to see him play free and loose like the clips from his college days. he seemed pretty quick in creating space for himself. but alas, van gundy is the coach.

Man, it would be nice if Bozi had his stuff right. But sadly he doesnt.

Now it time for a trade. maybe we can get a 3rd or even 4 th option, some kind of power scorer off the bench.

Let's just say this is the best move JVG can come up with. :)
But of course, this is no where near the best move any other coach could make. If you have see Phoenix Suns games lately, you will see the real offensive genius. Lakers with its triagle offense is pretty fluid as well, creating many more open look opportunities for players.

But, you have to say coaches either emphasize offense or emphasize defense - no one does both equally well, or maybe more like no team can really be good at both, except for ...:

My vote for best coaches in NBA these days:

Phil Jackson: Offense mainly, knows enough about Defense to do well there, especially during playoffs. His greatest strength is knowing how to custom the strategy to leverage the strengths of his players.

Pat Riley: Defense mainly, knows enough about offense to do well. His greatest strength is strategizing against certain opponent, hence he does well during playoffs (7 games give you plenty of adjustment opportunities). He is also a master motivator.

Avery Johnson: Probably the best coach today in both offense and defense. His offense is fluid, defense is up there with the best. But most importantly, he seems to know how to adjust to opponents very well, during halftime or during the playoffs. His biggest weakness is he gets too emotional - it is hard to think when you get really angry.

What's wrong with the grammar in here? We don't lose any offense when Yao and Tmac are out. We've got Rafer.

I don't think Rafer bricking three offence could describe a good 3rd option for the Rox.
How about Billy attacking the basket and dish? :)

    over the last few games

Billy cant convert his layups in traffic as efficiently as someone like Manu

i think he is better at penetrating then dishing out to the open man

JVG needs to get Battier in the mindset to be a scorer when needed. Dude can ball, he's not just a defensive weapon.

I'll take a poor man's Manu any day over a poor man's Ryan Bowen without defense, aka Novak.

Bonzi was supposed to be the guy posting up instead of battier...But he's a headcase. Ship him out if he can't change...
