The lesson here is that whatever you say to your drunken ass friends during the game might sound funny but won't stay funny when you post your seemingly clever thoughts online.
I like the whole 'train of thought' here, maybe we should start a new thread (or continue on) regarding... hindsight being 20/20, what is the stupidest desire/opinion you had in the past regarding the Rockets? Did you think Jay Williams should have been selected over Yao back in 2002? Bowie over Hakeem? The Eddie Griffen deal a winner? I'd have to say, for me, doing backflips when we signed Pippen, or to a lesser degree Shandon Anderson....
and I once predicted that Yao would eventually surpass Shaq as the leagues best center, but Kenny the jet shot me down and said that he would still take Shaq over Yao today despite the disparity in performance. Damn my foolish projections!
Great post! I would be happy with his numbers 19-7-6 as his averages. But the problem was..last game he took so many shots and wasn't a team player was he??? I think I agree with you he wasn't the same player he once was..he needs to change his game to team-mac. Take less shots and do more passing and rebounding. I mean wasn't he making bad shot selection last game?? That deserves criticism when you're making bad shot selection..especially when taking that many outside jumpers. He will never drive in during the season that many times..because he's lost his explosiveness and physical play will only make his fragile body worst or a high risk of it. He's no wade or kobe..but if his numbers were 19-7-6 i'd be more than happy with that.
sorry, ok, let me try again... Q: How many YOFs does it take to screw in a lightbulb? THAT NOT FUNY! or Q: How many YOFs does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A: 1 Billion. 1 to screw in the rightbarb, 1 to start a thread about how the rightbarb screwer isn't getting enough credit, 1 (pryuen) to reply with 29 pictures of the rightbarb screwer in action, and 999,999,997 to agree and give the thread 5 stars!
I had a lot of hope last year for Stromile. I confess that when I was 10 years old, I use to think Anthony "Pig" Miller was a spectacular player.
This thread may have been partially for TMac, but it's a huge confessional. I wanted us to trade down and take Mike Dunleavy Jr., cause I thought he was gonna be an incredible offensive player in this league as a point forward who could shoot. I thought Tim Breaux had such an incredible first step that he should have become our starting 3. Among many other "coulda-beens"
True, but I'm pleased that it's become a confessional as well. On another note, I've found this interesting as well: 1. If you mention David Carr, certain folks will always take any comparison (even the smallest and least opinionated comparisons) and translate any mention or writing of his name as unbridled adoration for his QB skills and support for his high level of compensation. 2. Mentioning David Carr means that these same individuals will feel compelled to sponaneously vomit the name Vince Young. Apparently passing for 249 yards in a recent game has vaulted Young into the company of Montana, Elway, and Marino (sorry I didn't get the memo, thanks for reminding me though). On a semi related note, I'm just curious what the average shelf life of a man crush is... 3. This thread was not about David Carr or Vince Young, until now that is, as I'm sure to be crushed with the verbal fury of thousands of Vince's boyfriends. On another related note: Those of you pining for the accountablity of T-Mac need not worry. He's highly accountable to his coaching staff and teammates; I'm 99.999999% sure that he has someone to answer to when he shoots 25,30, or 35% from the field aside from you and I. Have a little patience and let the guy shoot himself out of his slump instead of trying to run him out of town. I know it's tough with your dreams of an 82-0 season having gone up in smoke, but try and deal with it.
I thought, "Stromile Swift at that price?! Wow, what a steal! How can we go wrong?" I thought, "Derek Anderson at that price?! Wow, what a steal! How can we go wrong?" I thought, "Bonzi Wells at that price?! Wow, what a steal! How can we go wrong?"
Bingo. Everyone thought (including every preseason preview) that these two guys would take us to the Western Conference Finals. I hope I haven't overestimated Vspan or Novak this year too. But my expectations this time or nowhere close to last, let me clarify: I hope Vspan can evolve into a starter in 1-2 yrs, and Novak will be a solid contributor off the bench.
I got another confession.... "Sure Matt Maloney can do the job! I mean with the wealth of talent around him, how can we not win it all? No question, we're talking DYNASTY here!"
gotta admit..."hooroo"...sounds funny as a moniker in all languages. either that, or I'm more than a confessed moron than I thought.
