I am currently in a web development class and for the final exam we have been given a website which we are supposed to tweak. Something we can do for extra credit is develop a Flash logo. I have never worked with Flash before, so I am wanting to know how difficult this might be because I know numerous people on this board have worked with it. I am not wanting to do anything outrageous just something professional.

If you want to cheat you can do a easy animation in ImageReady, then export it as a Flash .swf (unless they check your Flash .fla file)

Cool. Is that software free? I would like to learn the hard way too though.

It's not cheating since it's not a FLASH class.

Image Ready is entirely frame based and very basic. It can't do any of the cool stuff that flash does, like tweening, unless you can fake it, but I wouldn't reccomend it. Too much work.

Image Ready is built into Photoshop, BTW. Just click on the the icon at the bottom of your toolbar that has move, clone stamp, ect.

Look for some flash tutorials online and maybe try to find some cool scripts or coding.

OK, I am going to give you an idea of what kind of logo I want to do and try to tell me if it would be very difficult.

I would want a car moving across the screen and then following behind that the name of the company which comes to a stop in the center. Then under the name comes the company motto. Would that be too difficult?

I am looking at this site to help me build a simply animation logo.

    http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash8/simple_animation.htm

Well the first part of thsi tutorial says open Studio 8.

I go to Macromedia's site to download the free 30 day version of Studio 8 but am offered a download of Dreamweaver 8, Flash Professional Video Encoder 8, Fireworks 8, and Contribute 3.

Which one of these do I need to do this type of project?

Anybody know any easy to use, free flash creator software? I have found something a bit easier to do and I thought I found a good piece of software (CoffeeCup Firestarter) but it leaves a watermark with each file you create. Is there any free, easy to use software out there?

On the Adobe download page there's a link to Flash 8, with Professional and Basic under it, just download one of those trials.

If you go here and watch the "Motion Tween" part 1 video you can see how to make simple animations.

I tried to download both of them. When I download the file and install it is Flash 8 Video Encoder.

I'm still trying to figure out why your class would teach you how to (or give you extra credit for) create a Flash logo. Who has those anymore? It's like asking you to create a java applet in Frontpage for your site navigation. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there already a Flash logo?
