Detroit. They built their win streak against losing teams or teams in a slump.

I agree, when 100% we should be a matchup nightmare for them, in a seven game series we should figure out the Suns but man ol man am I worried about playing the Spurs.

don't let that 30 point beating we gave them earlier fool you. they are NOT that bad against us.

and for whoever said they've built the streak against weak opponents...what about the win over the Spurs?

i think a lot of you folks are overestimating the greatness of the Rockets and underestimating their opponents.

I agree the Spurs are a good team in a slump. They have lost 3 of the last 4 games(1-3). Here are the last 4 games that Spurs have played: Dallas, Seattle, GSW, and Utah. They won against Seattle at home, but lost to every team above 0.500. They caught the Spurs at a good time.

Dallas is great at beating teams that are in a slump or weak opponents. Let's see them get some quality wins.

You can paint it any way you want it. The Mavs beat the Spurs BEFORE any slump and they did it IN San Antonio.

Let it be stated that Dallas is doing this relatively quietly. Nobody is really talking about how the Mavs are on some incredible roll right now. I'm just saying this because if the Rockets were on such a streak then more than half this board would be crying like babies about how we get no respect. They'd probably say things like "If this were the Heat or the Mavs or the Cavs it would be all over ESPN". Apparently that's not true.

(Except I do believe that if it were Miami or Cleveland it would be a big deal to the media :p )

    They are good.

We may be in the top 5 teams in the NBA, but only 3rd in our division.

    Wow....

Yeah. SI's NBA section on their website. That's not a surprise. Neither are the faces scattered on the page either lol. LeBron, Dwyane, Kobe. Who would have thought? :p

Make that 12 straight as they beat the crap out of Sac town.

Hey don't fool yourselves. I have watched a few of the Mavs games and they do a good job of jumping out to big leads in the first quarter and then never let up. They have lots of guys who can shoot and shoot well and a couple of guys with quicks to the baskt (Harris / Terry). I am glad we beat them in our home opener but lets not get to cocky.

Jon Barry made a great quote last night:

"In the words of the great coach, Jeff Van Gundy, this is a first quarter league. 65% of the teams who win the first quarter win the game..."

It's on the first page of ESPN right now. They even made it in the Houston Chronicle. PTI and Around the Horn had discussions on their streak. This was the first topic on NBA Fast Break...And it's not really incredible because they do it every year. Last year they had a long winning streak in December/January. The year before they had something like a 14 game winning streak to start the season. It's nothing new to the media.

Anyways, I hate to say it but they will lose again in The Finals.

If only we had Terry instead of Alston. Heck, I'd take Harris over Alston right now too!
