What have you heard and/or what are your thoughts? I've only skimmed it on espn.com's front page and Bill Simmons take-it-with-a-grain-of-salt take in his column today. If it's really true, the Griz are pretty dumb. If Gasol comes back from his injury, I'd rather trade away Warrick and Miller while their stock is still high. But that's just me.
It's been bounced around, largely by newspapers in other cities (Chicago). Memphis papers have flatly denied it, citing the pending sale of the franchise. It would make sense that they won't make major moves until the new ownership takes over, unless cutting salary is something that would seal the deal. I think chances are very small in the near future. However, I'd expect a major overhaul of the roster and managment (West, Fratello) once the deal is completed. Evan
It strikes me as BS too. I can perhaps see a trade after new ownership takes over since they apparently think they can field a competitive team on a smaller payroll.
how abt mac for pau and m-miller? pau solves our problem at the pf position, and miller can flat out shoot.... imagien how good we could be...
and who's going to be our playmaker? our catalyst? the guy who gets our team easy points with pinpoint passes?

Gasol and Yao seem to be very similar in where on the floor they need to play to be effective. I would think that they might not be ideally suited to play together. I also think that if I were the GM of Memphis I might have second thoughts about trading a relatively young Pau Gasol for a chronically injured and potentially on the downslide T-Mac.

Paul Pierce Dwayne Wade Steve Nash Josh Howard ( I would want Josh Howard over T-Mac of now ) Gilbert Arenas even Vince Carter ( Because he still acts like Vince Carter ) ( Tracy doesnt act like T-Mac at the moment ) Kobe ( You have to admit Kobe still has that tenacity to drive and attack the rim... he might shoot as much as T-mac but at least his % is higher )
Your kidding right? You wouldnt want Pual and MIller for T-mac? I bet if you did a poll around the league 90 Percent would pull that deal in a heartbeat...Now Memphis would not do that deal... Rockets would be raping them on that...
Forget Pau... we don't have enough to get him and he doesn't really fit anyway. If they are going to blow it up, look at the other talent and see if we can help the Grizz out with some cap relief or as part of a 3-way. Like others, I am intrigued by Miller. Win Now! Actually we would be worse off than now. Having Pau Gasol next to Yao would not be the best way to go, IMO. Now, if we can get a Ben Wallace/Dennis Rodman PF, that would be ideal. We need a guy who will do the dirty work next to Yao and dominate on defense.
