Michael Jordan and Nellie & Donnie Nelson are the ones that first come to mind.

I agree with you about the xenophobia, not so much the white/black thing though.

If you really think this writer is racist you should write to him and make him aware that the reason he placed Randolph ahead of Yao is because his inner hater.

Who cares what everyone says about Yao Ming in the media?

Who cares what everyone says about the Rockets in Dallas Texas and newspapers across the country?

why do some Rockets fans care so much about getting the credit they deserve?

I expect the Rockets to win games and make the playoffs... I expect nothing from the national media to shower the team with love or praises...

Why are we on a basketball BBS? Because we are fans(fanatics for short) of a pro basketball team? Why do we follow every move of the players on the team? If nothing matters why should we read sports section or watch ESPN? If you do not care about these I guess this is the wrong forum for you.

The ranking is not outrageous, but somewhat arguable.

    But that's not the point.

The point is some 'experts' and some media have kept subtly playing down what Yao has achieved, which may be offensive to most Yao fans.

I think it's because Yao has more help(t-mac, alston, battier, head) and Randolph has martell webster.

Massive hype?? Yao was BOOOED when the Rockets announced his pick! Do you want a list of all the 'experts' who proclaimed him a bust before he even touched an NBA basketball? It's gonna be a pretty long one.

The hype started when Yao showed his haters wrong. But then again, guess who created the hype? THE MEDIA. The same people who proclaimed Yao an instant bust were the same ones who built up the huge hype, if only to tear him down every chancethey get.

Who made that claim? I've never even heard of that claim. I'm sure Yao himself said that.

You got a point on that one. I'm not even expecting Yao to win MVP. However, he is putting up MVP numbers, which are better than Randolph's and Dirk's, his PER is 2nd among all players, and his team has a better or equal record to most of them. Ranking Dirk or Zach over him in 2 weeks is just wrong.

Hey if you don't agree with me, fine. I respect your opinion. If you think there's nothing wrong with the media taking jabs at Yao every chance they get, while every other player gets a free pass, fine.

But please layoff with the "oversensitive" insults. If I wanted to start namecalling I'd call you thick skinned, insensitive and apathetic to the team and its players.

Randolph ahead of Yao? Well according to nba.com Yao's individual stats are good but he's gotta win more to move up. Last time I checked Yao's stats are better then Randolph's and Randolph's team is 6-10

1.) When Yao had NO HELP last year, and he posted 25/12/2 on 53% shooting, did anyone ever mention his name? Plenty of people said Yao was statpadding. Sure the Rox had a losing record, but then again the Blazers aren't exactly winning right now.

2.) TD and Dirk has WAAAAY more help than Yao right now. So how come Yao is lower than them? Heck I'd say LBJ has about the same amount of help as Yao.

nothing matters but winning... f**k the naysayers, thats my point...

    I love the team

    I love the players

I love reading the recaps and watching the highlights, I couldn't care less about what some analysts say or write about the Houston Rockets...

what they say has nothing to do with the results at the end of a game or at the end of the season...
